Go searching for flowers in the forest again, only caring about things that don't seem vaguely common

Thoki uses the last of his money to purchase dried fruit. He munches on it, finishing it much more quickly than he wanted it to, and headed towards the square.

There are many soldiers there, and the leader, who has a small form, is yelling at two other people inside the door.

The sun is about to start setting.

Kaelan heads towards the temple. However, before he can enter, a soldier appears, not with a red scale mark, but with an arrow breaking another arrow in blue on his shield. He tries to prevent you from approaching, pushing you away with his shield.

You aren't quite close enough to make out what they are saying, but by the tones the leader of the blue squad seems to be a woman.

Inser heads to the forest.

After a long search, he finds some moss that is velvety like a bear's paw, a stalk of small flowers that look exactly like small copper bells, and a big, red flower that was growing on a tree. The last one had lots of nectar in it, and Inser is careful not to spill it.

Now that he had a small bit of inventory going, Inser felt more comfortable using the merchant facade. Still, when those armored men had him earlier, it opened his eyes. He was weak, and needed to fix that.
Practice using the daggers, then spend some time exercising

Salden furrowed his brow.

"Uh, do the others know the way out also? I noticed they're not with you..."

After a moment's pause, he spoke again.

"I'm going to go check real quick, make sure none of them came back or are lost in the woods. I'll catch up in a bit."

Head back to namu, attempt to bury it again. Take another berry if Aile lets me.

Then wander around the woods calling out if anyone's lost and needs help.

Mier returns to the alchemist's home, returning his money and explaining about the attack on the caravan and the resultant inavailabilty of the necessary materials, with a slight apology for the lack of resources in the villages. He then leaves, heading for the temple, halting if he sees anything notable.

((So Thoki walked out the door and he stepped outside and he took a deep breath and he got real mad and said, "Hey. What's going on?" :P))

Thoki walked up to the soldiers in the square. It was clearly a heavy handed move to have soldiers go from door to door, but Thoki's curiosity was getting the better of him. He approached the group of soldiers. "Excuse me... What's going on here?" He straightened his pince-nez in an attempt to hide his feelings about their tactics.

Give the whole bunch of snowberries to Salden.

"Excuse me soldier, my friend needs these if any others are still lost. Provision's sake and all that.

"In the meantime...wait, they're using my people's temple as your base?!"

Be shocked, ask soldier this.

Inser decides to practice using daggers. He spends the whole day practicing.

(Add "Daggers (?)" to skills)

Aile:

"In the meantime...wait, they're using my people's temple as your base?!"
"We got permission!" says the soldier defensively.

Salden meanwhile leaves and finds his way back to the namu. He focuses and

using no power, makes the namu sink into the ground until only two spans of it is sticking above the surface.

He then wanders around the woods, calling out.

He finds no-one.

Mier explains.

The alchemist claps Mier on the shoulder and says, "Well, I suppose there's nothing left to do but move to a place with friendlier skies, and markets!"

He then bustles around packing his stuff. He tells Mier that if he wants to follow, he should be here by tomorrow morning.

Mier heads towards the temple, and notices the rather unmissable legion of soldiers, and the confrontation at the entrance to the building. The two men, of the red scale squad, seem to be both cringing and scowling at the other person, presumably the leader of the blue squad and who has a slim form, short-cropped hair that has an unnatural pale blue color.

The men of the red scales finally stand aside, and the woman marches in.

Shortly afterwards, some red scale men are evicted by the looks of their faces, heading towards the east exit of the forest.

Trendam raises a palm. The man looks shifty, not meeting Trendam's eyes, and not acknowledging him either. He hesitates, then with a cry runs away.

Thoki talks to one of the new soldiers, with a blue bolt breaking another blue bolt on each of their shields. The man glares straight ahead, rigid, and barks,
"We Are Relieving The Red Dragon Squad Of Their Operations And Otherwise Taking Over, Sir!"

Kaelan overhears another man asking a soldier, who barks an answer that everyone in the square could surely hear.

Kaelan heads off and tries to find somewhere to practice his marksmanship. He also gets around to finding out what's inside the cloth tied to a stick he's been carrying around.
