Spoiler: Aile Urien (click to show/hide)

"All yours," Aile whispered back to Salden.

Assist in distraction/watching the man and keeping an eye out for anyone else. If distracting proves better, distract in a way that wouldn't provide moral or emotional discomfort to self.

Kaelan negates his magic just before entering the town and looks for someone shady to sell his gems. But being a small town and such, there aren't "shady" people per se. That's a ... problem.

Mier examines the man. It seems that the arrow got into his abdominal area and is lodged there right now. Though there is no blood, removing the arrow surely will rip the muscle and fat, and whatever organs it might be embedded in, and also cause a lot of blood.

"No idea, and it's the first time I've ever seen't happen. As for town ... " the man grimaces, before continuing, "- unless you have a great doctor, I think I'm pretty much a goner."

Thoki enters a quiet ally and recreates the shadow guide. He coalesces effortlessly from the shadow, again appearing with its empty face and vaguely defined body.

Salden steps back from the man. With a thought, he attempts to make the earth swallow  Aile's namu up.

Nothing happens, but the earth does rumble hopefully.

The man whips his head back, then looks at you again, eyes wild.

"G-get me out of here! Quickly, pronto, fast as you can! You're natives, right? You should know a quick route away from that thing ..."

He stumbles a few steps away.

Inser uses 1 power and makes the namu cease to be seen.

uses 1 power. Nothing seems to happen as far as he knows. His skin seems to tighten, though.

Aile looks at the crazy man.

Try to remove the sense of being able to touch it, return to town if this fails.

Aile glanced quickly at Salden with a confused expression, then it dawned on her.

She waved at the man. "Quick! Follow me back to the village, I know the route back!" As she approached him, she gestured behind her back to Salden, then to the namu, then at the direction where Thoki was last seen.

"If I can't see you there in a day, meet me at the Northern Village."

"Are you hurt, sir? Quick! Don't anger the fire god! Step lightly and away from it, my friend will take care of appeasing him!"

Convince last man to follow back to the village.

And if possible, disappear after helping the man, possibly using part of her salve {Healing mixture in alcohol jar} to help him.

Kaelan tries to find somewhere selling light armor, suitable for a hunter, a thief or an assassin.

"Okay, you're right... I don't see a way to save you normally, friend. I'll try something a bit strange, if you don't object. No promises that it'll work, but we don't exactly have another option. Just close your eyes and try to stay awake."

Mier snaps the shaft of the arrow off carefully, leaving about six inches left. He then creates a stream of light, feeding it into the wound, wrapping it tightly around the arrowhead and shaft. Once in place, he attempts to cause the inside of the shell of light to solidify, holding the arrow, while leaving the outside of the shell as it was, allowing both it and the arrow to pass through the man's flesh without interacting with it. If he thinks he has done this successfully, Mier carefully removes the arrow, dispelling the shell of light once it is outside the man's body.

Thoki was glad to see his Guide again. The last time he burned the shadow into oblivion by leaving it out in the sunlight. He wouldn't make that mistake twice. "Could you hide within my shadow? I doubt that this alley will stay empty forever, and I don't want to be caught in the middle of the city." He waited for the guide to disappear into his shadow before continuing. "I need to know, what would someone gain from destroying the other namu? I think that someone may be trying to find them for their own ends."

"Oh, yeah," Salden said, looking concerned. "I'll catch up in a moment."

Attempt to swallow up earth namu again, once man can't see it anymore. Then hurry after Aile.

Inser uses his magic.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Using 1 power Inser erases the existence of the namu. He can't touch it (his hand passes through), it doesn't interact with the environment, and he can't remember where exactly it was anymore. Light passes through it and the ground is perfectly level.

Hmm.

Aile speaks. The man seems unsure, then slowly follows you and Salden. He insists on bringing up the rear and being able to see you two. Aile then gives a small amount of salve to the man. The man thanks Aile.

Salden
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
uses 3  power and is amazed as nothing happens. D:

Kaelan pays a visit to the local blacksmith again. He has a small selection of armor, which mostly consists of plate or chain, but there is one suit of old leather armor, on the light and thin side, and protruding an aura of disuse, mal-use, and age. It has many scratch marks on the chest area. It also seems to be rather creaky, and the few rivets are covered with rust.

Mier

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
snaps most of the shaft off. He then creates  a thin shaft of light and does a tricky spell.

The arrow leaves the man's body. Some more blood courses out, but it is much less than what would have been caused if Mier had ripped the arrow out.

The man stares at Mier, and stammers.

1 power used.

Thoki watches. The guide melts back into the shadow. Thoki experimentally takes a few steps into the light, and still feels the presence of the guide with no sign of meltage. He steps back into the shadow and speaks to the guide. It responds in a whispery voice,

Correct.

Salden furrowed his brow. Nothing to be done about it now.

"What were you doing near there anyway?" he asked as he helped lead the man back to the village. "You shouldn't mess with those things. In addition to being dangerous, I've heard they're important to the world itself."

"Moreover, who sent you to do that dangerous task. Harming one of those will destroy much more than you'd think." Aile said in a matter-of-fact way, handing him either an umbrella leaf or a bunch of snowberries, whichever would help restore his power while eating some herself as they both question the man.

Kaelan politely declines and inquires about weapons, such as daggers, arrows and bows (as well as crossbows if they exist).

((I'll be damned, it worked. Hooray for creativity magic!))

"Just... don't mention that to anyone, okay? Please? The people that attacked your caravan aren't what you would call my friends, and they probably wouldn't be too happy to find out that someone survived their attack, if you get my drift. So look, I'll carry you back to town. You were attacked by a foreigner while you were out walking, but he ran off. The wound wasn't very bad; I found you and helped you back. Is that okay?"

While waiting for a response, Mier rips a few of the cleanest strips of cloth he can from nearby bodies and uses them to bandage the wound. He then searches the caravan for anything of value, murmuring an apology to the dead, "Sorry about this, but there's no point letting some bloody bandit or greedy foreign merchant profit from slaughter, even of their own..."
