Salden frowned.

"I dunno, he looks like the least reasonable of them... we might be better off trying to scare him off too."

Thoki hears the response:

"Kid, I really don't know. You'd have to go to a headquarters to get any information, regional or not."

Mier:

"Yes, it was those goddamn crazy son-of-dog national guard," mutters the man after a half-hearted attempt at kicked Mier.

The man's wound has mostly clotted around the arrow that is now in his gut.

Aile:
"Scared mice often bite," offers Nnaranha.

Trendam uses 1 power! He doesn't know if it worked or not. He doesn't feel especially different, and clenching a fist, he can't tell if he's different or not.

Inser attempted to draw power from the namu. He feels 1 power appearing, but a subsequent attempt yields nothing.

He greets the namu. The namu is stoic.

Kaelan, avoiding the other boy, rummages through a caravan. The 'bandits' (or whoever it was) seemed to have been stupid: they left the coffer! He empties the contents (mostly bills) silently as he can manage into his pouch. An estimate judging by the amount and color tells him he has found f1220 in bills and 120 in copper coins. Further searching doesn't turn up any easily pawnable items. This merchant mostly had food and household utilities.

"Hm. It's a bit risky, but I think I can do it," Salden offered. He really hoped this worked; he didn't really have the-

...wait a moment...

Wait for man to turn back on totem. Then seal it into the earth without him noticing, so that when he turns back to it it's simply gone.

"National Guard? Are they those thuggish types with the red scale emblem?"

Mier glances around, looking for things that were on the shopping list.

My namu is quite the stoic. This pleases me.
Try to erase the namu's visibility

Cast the spell once more: try and magically improve my strength in spite of the body's muscle mass (in other words, attempt to directly modify the myofibril's ultimate tension strength as a material proprierty)

Back to square one Thoki silently thought to himself. "Alright, could you point me to your headquarters then?" He hoped that he wouldn't point back to the temple. That would mean that there was nothing more he could do, and that no one that he could talk to would know. They'd just point him in circles thinking that they someone might know when they don't. He'd have to try something else if that was the case.

Head to their headquarters. If it's the temple, head there and walk past to find a dark alleyway to summon the Guide.

Salden watches. The man turns a bit and spots Salden. He starts coming after him.

Mier:

"Yeah, they fight bastardy good," he mutters, "our guards didn't stand much a chance. Still, I think most of the caravan ran..."

Mier looks around, but doesn't find anything that looks like rock in this wagon.

uses 1 power. Again, he can't tell if anything happened or not.

Kaelan eavesdrops.

Thoki:

The man looks at Thoki weirdly.

"Erm... that..away...maybe a fortnight on foot ... ?"

He points in any random direction.

Aile watches as the man goes towards herself and Salden.

"Damn, this looks really bad. Do you know why they attacked your caravan? And do you think you can make it back to town if I help you?"

Mier examines the man, attempting to determine the severity of his wound.

Thoki placed his hand directly to his forehead. The guard clearly had no idea where his headquarters was, but he wasn't about to question him. The last thing he needed was a hostile guard. Thoki spoke up, playing off his hand movement by acting as if he had to wipe something out of his eye. "Thanks. I'll set out in the morning." He headed back to the atrium, looking for a dark alley. If the guards had no ideas maybe his Guide would have some insight into the situation that he overlooked. Once he found a dark, quiet alley he concentrated on his own shadow, bubbling it into the shape of a person.

Reform the shadowy Guide.

Salden was slightly surprised at the man's charge, but knew he had Power to spare. This shouldn't be a problem.

Plus, he didn't actually know if the man was hostile or not. Maybe he was trying to get Salden and Aile out of the way?

"It's alright, I can handle this," he said quietly to Aile, motioning her away with one hand. He didn't want her thinking they were in trouble.

Step back from man, but not hurriedly. Have earth swallow up namu, if I can do so without it being apparent that I'm casting something. Otherwise, just keep watching.
