He did frown a bit at the mention of carrion, before pondering why a raven wouldn't like carrion.


"So, that's four of us," Salden continued quietly. "Three of which have everything taken care of, one of which still needs to do that. So... we just need to find the others and deal with theirs, plus Aile's. And then, uh, I guess we just run away? Or go try to figure out what's behind all this?"

Aile was delighted with the offer Thoki was suggesting, "The roundabout walk would only take less than two hours, adding the time needed for hiding it. So who wants to go with? I'm alright doing it alone, you could all stay here with Thoki, I mean..."

Salden and James were pretty free to do whatever they wanted. This could be her first time to actually use her powers and discover their potential, anyway.

"It was nice meeting you James. I'll stay up, and we'll meet in the atrium when you get back." Thoki stood up, pushing the chair he was sitting in back into the table with a squeak as it slid. "Well, if no one else has anything to say I'll be off. I've got to see if the guy in the atrium is still there. I might still have time to follow the lead I have." He straightened his long heavily embroidered jacket and walked out of the restaurant, trusting that his new friend would foot the bill as he said. It felt good to have a well prepared meal for once, and it was even better to have found a new friend. Things were looking up for him. Now he just needed his tip from the guards to pan out. He just needed to find someone that looks like they work for the guards in the atrium.

It takes an hour to get there. There seems to be smoke rising from the far east.

The clearing is filled with men, some of them red-scale guards and others mercs. The mercenaries are diggin around the namu, while the guards bark orders or otherwise just observe.

Both of you stay in the forest, not noticed yet.

Thoki sees two men, one of them wearing a clean set of armor and playing with flat pieces of paper which have various shapes on them. His shield shines with the red scale mark. The other man has civilian clothes on and is eating a meal of oatmeal. His red-scale-emblazoned shield also sits by his feet.

Inser touches his shard and tries to 'draw' power from it. However, nothing happens. It does feel like he has a better access to his own power...

"Thank you, boy."

Mier heads to the east pass at a quick walk, keeping an eye out for people heading in the same direction. When he arrives, he attempts to stay concealed from the people who are still alive.

From that kid's description it'll be bandits, most likely. Maybe some of the merchants are still alive, but if not, I suppose I could think about taking the law into my own hands. Besides, I've got shopping to do, and I'm sure that alchemist would appreciate me saving his money.
