'Well that went better than expected. I'd better head to the temple.' Thoki stood up, pressing his black arm into the bark of the tree. He was glad that those people didn't notice his arm. He took a second to brush the dirt off his jacket before moving on.

Head to the temple.

Mier approaches the bar and beckons to the barkeeper. He speaks just a bit louder than necessary, asking him, "Hello, friend! A cup of wine, if you please."

As the drink arrives, he questions him in a lower tone, "Would you happen to know why those outsider soldiers are here, looking for magic out of childrens' stories?"

"Now what?" Salden whispered to the raven. "Do I- oh! Do the other, um, namu people have talking animals too?"

Glance around town for anyone with a suspicious pet animal.

Thoki

You head towards the temple ...

Kaelan

You pick up the namu and slip it into your pack without much difficulty.

Inser

You return to the north village.

"...Fine, I guess."

The raven ruffles its wings.

Mier

You pay 1 copper coin for the wine.

"Ach, them outsiders. Someone outsider posted a bounty worth somewhere around f1200, and that's why they're all here like flies to a lump of dung."
The barkeeper looks very disgruntled at the outsiders.

Salden

"Some have, some don't."

You see:

Quote
Thoki : Strange person with pince-nez.
Trendam : Talking to smith (not suspicious).
Aile : A female with a cat, seems to be talking to herself.
Inser : A man with a raven on his shoulder.

Trendam

The man stops hammering for a moment, before catching his lapse and hurriedly continues.
He speaks between blows.

"Boy(despite the fact you are not exactly young), even that isn't done without training ... well, I suppose I could use you to chop wood, make charcoal . . ."

He trails off.

Aile

((I always see dialogue xD That's like 75% of the reason I run TPN, to enjoy the writing of others >.>))

"Mmm, well, we're suppose to know. . . see, this happened about three hundred years ago, and that time ... well, let's say the chosen weren't exactly subtle. I guess you could say we are pure life/earth/sky in mortal bodies ... As for the piece, unless you brought your whole namu, it doesn't really matter."

You walk to a secluded street between some buildings.

((Heh, just wanted to make sure. Reminded of YAK. I'm loving this as it is. XD ))

Spoiler: Aile Urien (click to show/hide)

Aile scratched that spot behind the ears of Nnaranha with a smile, hoping it would help the silly cat.

"So you're an avatar too, huh? Um...are there others like us? Why did you pick a cat especially? How...do you find being an avatar?" she said, looking at the cat with a :3 expression.

Talk unsuspiciously while leaning against a building in that secluded location.

Salden glanced around. He was tempted to go over and talk to the raven-man, but the cat-lady also caught his attention. Hrm...

Eventually he decided on the cat lady. It'd be less awkward if the man just had a normal pet raven, and he had to explain where he got his without knowing anything about them, plus it'd give him a chance to pet the kitty.

He approached Aile with a beaming smile.

"Hello! That's a nice cat you have there. Can I pet him? What's his name? Does he ever, uh, scratch things?"

It was quickly dawning on him that he had no idea how to broach the subject without giving himself away. Something about... er... maybe it'd object to being petted?

Approach Aile, ask questions, pet cat.

Jacques could be patient. Really, he could. He was going to be patient. It would be reckless and foolish to go for the namu with someone here to see, even if that someone was a little child. He'd have to wait. Wait for however long it took.

Jacques was bad at waiting.

Jacques yells out to the child, "You there! What are you doing out in the woods so late?"

"Thank you, friend. I think I might just look into that. No point letting outsiders be rewarded for something we could do better, eh?"

Not particularly helpful. I wonder if he meant that those red-scale soldiers are mercenaries, or if he just doesn't care about the difference between them and the ones like that fellow in the forest.

Mier takes a swallow of the wine, grimacing, and leaves the tavern. He looks around for anything suspicious, and starts toward the temple.

I guess I'll have to get at this from the heart of things. It'll be a bit dangerous if they're some sort of religious order, but those red-scales might know something more about the person or people who posted that bounty.

Aile looked at the man who approached him and returned the greeting with a smile.

"Greetings to you, too! Sure you can pet...um, him. I guess. You are a he, right Nnaranha? Nnaranha is his name, found him as I was walking through my village in the South East.

Oh, he doesn't scratch. He punches things like the cat he is!"

She said all this with the same :3 on her face.

"So you're a villager of the Northern tribe? I wonder if you know a bit about the places here. Aile Urien, herbalist of the Fire Village." She subtly pushes the Namu shard deeper in her...holding bag as she stretches a hand out to the man.

Let cat be petted. Answer questions of IronyOwl.

((Come to think of it, I do have a bag for holding all my stuff, right?))

Thoki quickly realized that it might be a bad idea to keep his arm as it is. He quickly closed his eyes and dismissed the shadows lining his arm. 'What now? Should I look into the bounty, or should I try and find the others that the shadow spoke of?' He started walking to the temple again. 'Who am I kidding? There's no way they'd be crazy enough to walk up to random people and talk about magic... Wait.' He stopped in his tracks. 'I studied the occult for years. I can talk about that easily enough without bringing up totems and real magic. Now who should I talk to?' He looked around for the most suspicious person in the square. He settled on the man with the raven on his shoulder, but he figured it might be best to wait until he was alone.

Sit down and make better than average shadow puppets while waiting.
