Kaelan leads them in the vague direction of the namu, but mostly tries to get them lost without them realizing it. Once it's dark enough and suitably dense, he tries to loose them, lurking out of sight to see what they do.

You leave; hopefully no-one noticed you.

Outside, you ask someone where the nearest village is. The person says the north-east village and the north-west village are both in 20 minute's distance.


Inser

You head towards the north village. It takes shortly under an hour to get there. The north village is the one where the temple and the many outsiders come and go, and therefore is the most developed and 'modern' village. Most of the town is paved. You head towards a stable. There are a number of men leading horses into or out of the stable. A sign tacked up reads, "Horses for sale, f250 and up.

You try to make the men lose their way, and perhaps hide. However, after about twenty minutes, some of the men catch on to what you are doing. One of them angrily grabs your shoulder, and threatens, "Boy, just keep on leading us in circles, aye?"

He touches the huge axe on his back.


Salden

The raven nods crisply.

"Excellent deduction, kid. We'll make a detective out of you yet."
Despite being a raven, its (his?) voice drips with sarcasm.

"Now, take what you got and MOVE IT! A bunch of people are coming after you and the namu, and you should keep it out of their hands!"

He caws loudly like he is punctuating a point, and prods your hand with its beak again.

"Of course not, it's right over here."
Kaelan heads in the direction they were already going before suddenly breaking into a sprint, heading further into the forest.

You shake the men from you, but also lose your way in the forest. This is an unknown part of it, and you don't know your bearings at all. At least it's still bright. From far off, you can hear the sound of people crashing through the underbrush. Panting, you catch your breath leaning against a tree.

Aware of your surroundings, you head towards the north-west village. You don't think there is anyone following you.

What do you do when you get there?

"Yes, and a bunch of men are trying to find it. You should go and use your power to somehow bring it along with you."

The raven cocked its head like any other bird, a quick twitching action.

"What kind of power do you have, though?"

Meanwhile, you make sure to pick up your traveling robe, a pack, all the money you have (three f₂₀s and 22 coins), some simple weapons, and maybe paper and charcoal. Also, you collect all the food you can find in the house, about two day's worth, and a single waterskin.

A raven circles from the sky and lands on your shoulder, its sharp claws digging into you. It lightly jabs your ear.

You try to calm the raven down, brushing its feathers lightly.

It caws softly before poking you again. It almost seems to speak...

"You seem to have some sense, getting out of here. Do it."

This can't be coincidental that I have someone following me like this less than a day after I woke at that 'namu'; I can't imagine what else someone would be stalking me for. Can't just kill the fellow without speaking to him, though. Ah, I think that could do nicely...

Without emerging from his hiding spot, Mier attempts to phase light through the man's head in the same way he tried on himself the previous day.

Good. If this works the same way, his head will disappear, and he won't be able to see me. Much cleaner like this, regardless of the outcome.

[1]If Mier succeeds, he asks the man, "What is your business with me?"

[2]If the man notices Mier and goes for a weapon, Mier rushes him and attempts to disable his arms using his dagger.

[3]If the man notices Mier and is not visibly hostile, Mier asks the same as in [1], while keeping his dagger drawn behind his back.

Well, that backfired a bit. Didn't expect them to catch on so fast. Ah well, that totem is probably pretty valuable if they want it, not to mention whatever it did to me.
Kaelan tries make his way to the namu once he gets to a part of the forest he is familiar with, keeping his bow at the ready.

'So the poster said that the namu were deep in the forests right? I bet they're in the deepest wooded areas. The locals should know where the forest is thickest. I would hope at least.'Thoki looked around the village, looking for the nearest villager that didn't match the description of the people mentioned on the bounty. He walked up to them in his long heavily embroidered sage green coat, adjusting his pince-nez as he stopped walking. " Excuse me. I'm passing through the village, but I'm a bit of a nature lover. Would you happen to know the way to a dense part of the forest? I just need to know which way to head." He smiled despite feeling bad for lying to the person that he just met.

Head into the forest, even if directions aren't given.
