Bowelf adventurer won't shoot wildlife?
« on: April 06, 2012, 09:41:04 pm »

I figured I'd do something completely cliche and have a elven archer as an adventurer. The problem is I didn't start out with any food/drink, and I can't seem to shoot wildlife with my bow/arrows. I don't think my skill is so low that I'm missing them, especially as I'm standing right next to the critter I'd like to kill. I think that my darn adventurer is intentionally shooting to miss. Is this normal, and am I going to have to get down and dirty with my knife to kill animals instead of the clean precision of ranged murder?

Yeah, but you can attack wildlife in melee as an elf, so it seems strange to not be able to perforate them from a distance too.

If they count as non-hostile, they can only be hit "on accident".  You have a better chance of hitting them by not aiming at them, and missing.

You can only attack non-hostiles in melee with that stupid "are you sure" thing that you have to confirm every friggin' swing, so you get used to slamming it down 20 times in a row, then you decapitate your companions in one swing when they walk near you...

Anyway, the same thing happens when you sneak - if you haven't been declared hostile to a creature yet, you can go through an entire backpack full of random animal parts that you throw without landing a single hit.
