Monarch has arrived....
« on: April 06, 2012, 04:23:34 pm »

So for the first time ever I got a Monarch...

Except a few things are wrong.

First, I only had a baron.

Second, she shows up on screen as a N

Third, she is listed as queen vampire.

Fourth, she has over 3400 kills.

What should I do?

.......I LOVE DWARF FORTRESS, SO FREAKING MUCH.

I'd give there the best containment room ever, filled with everything a noble wants, plus livestock! So throw some children in there.

3,400 kills?

BOW before your new queen!

Sacrifice to her all the peasants she needs. If she desires to sup the sweeter, more refined blood of a legendary weaponsmith then so be it.

Let her reign of terror over the dwarven people last a thousand years!

She is the Queen.  Adorn her a noble's bedroom, a royal throne room, and allow her the finest of dwarven cuisine - literally.

Wall her up inside the throne room.

I had an above ground garden built in the grounds of my castle and two young dwarves spent time socialising there over the summer and at the end of the summer they were in love. Remember those long summers of your childhood? That first kiss in the gardens while crossbows dwarves shoot goblins above your head? The rain of dead birds as the hunters get to work? Truly Spearhills is a paradise.

The dwarven solution to everything : Pour magma on it.

Also, check her out in legends mode. She's probably got a pretty cool story.

Yes. Either Atomsmash her in a small room, pour magma on her in a small room, smash boulders on her head from way up high in a small, but deep, pit, blot out the sun with your arrows as you pelt her to death with steel and candy arrows, try to kill her with all of your dwarves, the skilled ones being shock troops for the horde...

or, maybe, dig to the circus then kick her down the hole, sparta-style.

Build her a legendary everything room, of course!

Designate many of your useless cheesemakers, animal caretakers, and what-have-you, and burrow them in her dining room and throne room.  Dump in only the food and alcohol of your queen's taste for the Flunkies / Court Attendants / Eating Bitches.

Dump in only the finest of weapons and armors, several of your best soldiers, and two (ir)regulars into a separate barracks with a well of unlife. No booze, only food. Wait for vampire to spread, and she has her honor guard. Heading one, of course.

Who cares if she offended some god or another? It was bound to happen with 4k+ kills.

If you order a dwarf to kill her, you'll get a loyalty cascade.

But thanks for drudging up as many overused movie cliches as you could.

I'm currently building her majestic rooms right now.

I've decided to wall her in with some children.

I think i'm going to build a Rancor pit, with her as the Rancor for all my useless migrants.

Also for some weird reason she needed to get rescued, at first I thought it would have been some cool trick to have their victim carry them to a secluded place but to no avail.

I don't see why you'd want to kill her.  She takes up no resources if you don't want her to and serves a useful purpose.  The idea of having a queen who's in charge of killing useless dwarves is also awesome flavour.

She won't kill anyone who's not asleep and I'm pretty sure you can't make her kill your own dwarfs.
