After breaching HFS (oops) I only have one soldier, with 17 civs left over, and their is a goblin siege. I still have my legendary weaponsmith though. The one soldier is legendary swordsdwarf but is dabbling shield user. I figure, 2 adamantine swords because you can parry. Would a legendary swordsdwarf block better than a dabbling shield dwarf?

Yup. But it won't block fire. Shields do.

Well I cant honestly answer that myself but you can always run a test in the arena, just remember hes most likely going to be surrounded so try to emulate that in the test runs. ALSO beware the !!BOWMAN!!. I would try and open the gates, let as little as possible inside and close it up again, might even fling a few gobos do their deaths
