Best creature for adventuring.
« on: April 06, 2012, 06:38:20 am »

What do you people think would be the best vanilla creature for adventuring? I mean by creating a new entity and adding [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE] and [CREATURE:X] to it. What would you replace X with?

My own vote goes to fire imp as of now. They die too quickly.

I'd say a GCS. It's gonna be weaker than something metal like a BC but WEBS.

Or maybe a Roc or something, and fly everywhere.

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...
Link for full quote. 'tis mighty funny.

Depends on your play style really, if you want to go on an all out muder rampage, bronze colossi are an obvious choice.
Special roasty powers? Magma crab/dragon.
Flier with good weapon skills = Nightwing
??? = sponge (air drowning might be a problem).
You could always try being a gnome or a troll. Maybe even a cavern critter like the GCS or a blind cave ogre.

My own vote goes to fire imp as of now. They die too quickly.

What was it up against?

Try Magma Men. Maybe Nautilus Men or Sperm Whale Men, too.

I wanted a creature with tags for learning, opening doors and perhaps a dangerous interaction. Screwing that, I'm going to try an ettin right now and see if I can get my smashy hands on the secrets of life and death.

Edit: The genning world has entered its fourth age of legendsmyth. ???
Edit 2: There is a tower on "The Hill of Roasting". Neat

I'd go with a dragon, if you can mod them to learn and grasp things.

You forgot "made out of slade"

Then it wouldn't be a BRONZE colossus. It would be a SLADE colossus. More epic but much less practical.

It's slightly more practical when you forget you changed the raws and they start attacking your fort.

If a Slade Colossus comes to my fort, Ill end up with Slade Warhammers.

Can you make slade warhammers? I set it to be mineable, but I don't see slade available in the arena.

It won't show in the arena. Also, [CAN_STONE] to warhammers should help nicely

Antmen queens can wear human-sized equipment, can speak and learn and grasp, and the four-arms thing is neat. Adding [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE] to the underground animal peoples entity is simple and quick.
