when you have a bit of a magma spill outside, and the massive brushfire starts discovering all the ambushes around my fort.

When a military squad gets a cool, relevant name (e.g., The Helms of Cudgeling or The Pointy Picks) instead of the usual random stupidity.

When a moody dwarf produces a placeable item of furniture instead of a useless hood or goblet or something.

When a migrant is a Skilled Herbalist instead of a High Master Presser.

When the elves bring bituminous coal & my desired building stones instead of thousands of bins of cloth. Oh wait.

One of the best things I've ever seen and would love to see again is seeing a goblin crossbowman hit the earth face-first after his bat got shot dead underneath him.

Ofcourse, the hurling of prisoners down the kill-chute onto some spikes will be satisfying too. I missed it when they threw the tick woman down, but there's plenty of opportunity of seeing it this time.

First mood of the fort, and I get:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Captcha on tinypic: Living Daylights

Finally a useful first mood. They are always amulets or some equally useless thing.
Guess I better start my military! <warmandfuzzy.jpeg> :P

Dwarf tip : Place that warhammer in a weapon trap before your fort dies/abandons. That'll protect it for the mandatory reclaim (otherwise it'll disappear into the abyss).

I love it when a thief wanders into the middle of my honey badger farm and gets shredded by about 50 enraged badgers.

If the game was just single, huge counter that filled the screen and never dropped below 100, I would be content.

I start giggling like mad when my modded aluminium bronze starts rolling off the smelting lines.

Fresh embark site with a river, flux, magnetite (my favorite of the iron ores), and a cave system less than 10 z-levels down with a magma pipe.

Its so beautiful I almost cry thinking about it.

Oh god yes.

I don't care what type of mood it is be it possession or the type of item made, it always makes me feel happy when all the items are gathered for an artifact.

I would like to see my tree humpers bring things that would actually make me want to not kill them (so they bring more of said useful stuff.) Like giant badgers and sunshine.
