I would definitely want to be a weapon or armorsmith, because overseers usually won't kill those for entertainment.

And then add a minecart ride when those get implemented. And alchemist's lab at the bottom. Syndrome that causes transformation into a llama? gonna mod that tomorrow!

Oh... oh dear.

This is the fort I was planning to use for Werecreature !!Science!!

So... I guess the answer to your question is either "Run away, screaming and crying before being torn apart by rabid werellamas," or "Lord over all creation with my invincible weredwarf military," depending on how much success I have.

Become a marksdwarve and snatch up all the metal bolts and best armor.

My forts traditionaly have been held against numerous siges and beasties by the markdwarves, thus they usually get the plush rooms
