Re-arranging furniture question
« on: April 05, 2012, 12:12:04 pm »

What is the easiest way to rearrange furniture?  Say I have my barracks on the top level and want to move some beds around, but I don't want to "remove building", haul it down the stairs to the furniture storage, then place it again only a couple tiles from where it originally sat?

Is it possible to just move stuff around without have to remove building then build again?

No.  You need to deconstruct the furniture, then rebuild it in the new location.

You can only deconstruct stuff to rebuild it.  You can disable your furniture pile though, or have more beds than you need so you can replace the beds and put the old beds in storage.

Things like this are considerably easily to pull off it you have lockable doors at the entrance of every room. Lock dwarves into your barracks, or lock the furniture stockpile.
