1) Load treasure onto our boat

2) Take a quick look into the "sea" that the treasure has been tossed. The monks are dumping it on the beach, not the middle of the ocean. There might be a couple hundred pounds of gold and silver 10 feet into the surf. It's worth checking.

3) Do we gave a home base? I don't see one on the map.

3a) If we do, then take our dead with us and return home so that we may give them proper burial, inform their women, revel in our good fortune, etc.

3b) If we don't, then burn the dead. All of them. Do this last, so that we're not setting off a massive smoke signal to the world while we load treasure onto our boat. Pyre is last thing we do before we leave.

 * It gives proper respect to our fallen friends so they don't haunt us
 * It keeps morale high, since those still alive will know they're not simply being used and discarded
 * It hides our losses to whomever comes looking for us. If they find a massive pile of burned corpses, it looks like we simply came in and slaughtered everyone. If they find lots of viking corpses, it tells them that we can be defeated, and are weaker now than we were.

4) If we don't have a home base, then return to the monastery and start building defenses. Also, look for nuns. We will need women to breed more vikings.

Didn't think about moral, our homebase is in Scandanavia in all likely hood. The map was of areas we could attack, and hence didn't include scandanavia. Also can we put all the dead on one boat with the lowest ranked men, I don't want to smell corpses while we cross the sea.

If home is too far, sure we can burn our dead. According to the description in the opening post, we started this with only one boat, and 30 warriors. Counting blue dots on the most recent picture, it looks like we're down to 22. If a handful of priests were able to kill 8 out of 30 of us, I don't think we want to attack a village with a militia or a bustling town full of guards with our reduced numbers. Neither do we want to give them time to notice our handiwork and come looking for us.

We have treasure. It's time to rest and regroup.

Oh no I was saying we should go to  Scandanavia, there we can give out a portion of the treasure to the crewmen, keep some for ourself, stock up on supplies and get our selves some new men and ships. The men shouldn't cost much because I believe they traditionally just joined a captan in the understnading that they would recieve a portion of the treasure.

With the new men and ships we should be able ot attempt more daring assualts.

Okay...

Let's say this takes place in a semi-fictional land, no magic or anything, just not part of the known world.  Let's say you come from a viking settlement, outside of the original starting map.

Also, Nuke.19, please don't haunt me...

CONSENSUS?

Burn, dump, or bring home our dead?  Plunder, yeah, that's a given, I guess.

Burn the bodies, then dump them on top of the treasure, so they can be rich in the afterlife.

And then bring the ash-covered treasure with you?  Right?

Weird, trying to upload the picture on Img.ie but it says the file isn't a "true image".  I'm only a novice to the paint adventure forum game, so can anybody explain what I did wrong?  I saved the file as JPEG, along with the previous pictures.

If I can't use this, can anybody please direct me to a free and usable picture uploading site?

You order your men to gather the fallen and burn their corpses, so that they may truly rest.  The terrified monks who surrendered stand in a line at your order.  What will you do with them?

Sorry if I mis-"drew" the number of vikings and dead/living monks.  I hope it's consistent, if it's not, I'll edit it.  Probably.

order.  What will you do with them?

They were strong enough to slay our comrades and survive the battle. They are worthy of our respect. Praise them as valiant warriors and offer them a chance for glory by joining us.

If they refuse, kill them. Don't tell them in advance those are the options.
