Delving deeper into the fortress, you find a new wall of text on dolomite, covered partially by an overturned microcline throne. The writing style is different, but the letting remains the same. It is carved as always by Fen Valdyr, but not dictated by another dwarf in this instance.

This is, I suppose, the first overseer's journal of Fen Valdyr. This morning, the bay-goers as a whole decided that in true succession fort tradition, we should pass on leadership of the fort to one another every now and again. Apparently things were not hectic enough around here. We wound getting up with a very... interesting way of getting the decision of who got to be overseer from some of the actual dwarves who have come to live here. A giant pot is made, and everyone except the previous overseer throws their left sock in it. You put a lid on it, and throw it down a hill; when it's finished, the previous overseer is blindfolded with his left sock, and pulls one out of the pot. Whoever's left sock it is, gets to be overseer.

Sometimes, I wonder how dwarves even stay alive. Then I remember that, frequently, they don't. It being my first day, very little has happened. I don't know how long I'll be overseer, as we haven't put up any time limits on it, or any other replacement criteria really. I guess I'm here until I screw something up and get twenty people killed, or get tired of it or something. Mostly everything is going as it has been, All I've done is glanced over the notes left to me, asked the miners to make space for an "overflow stockpile" and taken a look around the fortress. Some dwarf told me that "The Dwarves of the Paper Doctrine now know a few facts about eagle training." Whatever that means. I'll pass it aorund during lunch, though, everyone'll get a kick out of maybe getting pet war eagles.

So yeah, continuing the fortress after Talvieno. I hope I don't !!Accidentally!! everything on my first succession fort.

Ok, so wtf have I missed? Is there suddenly some temporal commando force named after Oliolli fighting a Tyranid wannabe out of nowhere now?

The ollifex was called forth from nothingness by uttering its one true name.

Oliolli is suffering a physical instance of multiple personality disorder, where all the different personalities are really just phyical copies of himself.

I led the undead hoardes through the spire, and died after sealing the hole shut with a diorite boulder.

The cave system should be made off limits until the demon ichor can be cleaned up. I suggest magma.

Hugo luman' temporal vortex manipulator caused localized memory corruption which is what exposed the HFS, and weakened the adamantine spire in the first place. Current location is unknown.

Most fortress inhabitants are too busy trying to keep thieer hairy bums from devouring their panties with fear in their quarters.

Situation: normal for this lot.
