Actually, Shadowrunning etiquette is used a bunch of times, though only to get a bit more money from your Mr. Johnson.

Define "a bunch of times." Literally, I have seen it in use once.

When I used Shadowrunner Etiquette to:

I kinda figured that was the best it was ever going to get.

It's stuff like that, that makes the actual RPG side of SRR seem so weak. I mean seriously, all that jibba-jabber and they couldn't work more ettiquette options? (Or, for that matter, more non-Matrix places where decking has a purpose? Found exactly one door that's opened through decking so far.)

I mean, future modders will do better. But the absence of most of that stuff in Dead Man's makes me wonder exactly how much time they took with the campaign. Because playing through, it feels like very little at all.
Security etiquette is used a lot of times.

Which you can also do by just having Charisma 5.  Or...strength 4?  I forget, I saw it last night.

Um, you can pawn several things you find Decking or as hidden loot to him, like info on corps, or gems, and each time he gives you like 500-1000 cred extra with Shadowrunning. Plus that mission he gives you.

I've seen a corp etiquette for better pay, that's the only thing I remember from that guy.

I'll take it as confirmation for the definition of "a bunch of times".

I'll re-caste it as "about three times."

so it's decided. We need a story with a Plot that revolves around using Etiquette to survive.

Awesome.

MY ELF TANGO HAS 10 CHARISMA AND A SHOTGUN.  (I used shotgun etiquette more than anything).

Honestly, I assumed etiquette would be one of the things that would save you from getting your face blown off. As it is, it's mostly used in Dead Man's for extra lewt and flavor text.

I used it against one of the cops to get access to the crime scene.  Notably I have no idea how un-combat-y the other options are....

It's just a short cut that means you don't:

A majority of the etiquette's are rarely used, and the one's that are used the most are security and corporate. You don't see them THAT often, but even when you do the bonus options only either give you more money, or save you the thirty seconds you'd have to spend talking to an NPC or getting a certain nearby item to get into the area. They don't add anything to the game at all, and are honestly a waste of points.

I plan to implement etiquettes as means to evade appropriate random encounters. I think it will be the most useful way to use them.

That's just the core campaign.  User-made content could easily change that.

But yeah, a little sad that the supplied campaign didn't take advantage of a number of things.
