Wow, I can't believe how fast its been going up.  I don't think they are going to have any trouble reaching their target.   :P

I played the crap out of the SNES version of Shadowrun back in the day. Still probably have the cartridge, somewhere.

Me too.  It was one of my favorite SNES games.  I probably played it 3 or 4 times.  :D

I preferred the Sega version because it was less of a railroad than the SNES version. Still good though.

Played the SNES version on PC quite a few times...  I'm in on this.

EDIT: Also, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Never touched the SNES game, was a fan of the 2007 xbox release, and I liked the 4th edition TTRPG version of the world.

Still backing this though, as I do like what I'm hearing.

My running head-commentary as I read this:

- Wait, it's by the original creator?  Does he even own the copyright still?
- Oh.  He does.

GLEE! GLEE!

No one ever will play tabletop Shadowrun with me and I've been enamored with the entire series since I saw the Sega Game previewed in Sega Visions as  a 10 year old.  Mohawk elf in a bikini top shooting an uzi while a guy hacks with a wire from his neck?  Cyborgs?  I could never forget it :)

To be fair, shadowrun's table top incarnation isn't exactly very newby friendly. Catalyst apparently streamlined things for shadowrun's 4th edition rule-set, but the combat section is still divided into 4 different rules, and that's just physical combat. Not to mention that cyber combat and astral combat existed in the tabletop game, but took place in a smaller time frame than physical combat, and you ended up with rules no one used since it lefts the fighters out. (Not sure if this is still true in 4th ed)

Plus there is a lot to take in when it comes to the setting, and the fact that there is no more Soviet Union, and us having pretty much passed some of the signs of magic returning to the world makes things confusing.

I backed it.

My favorite feature was the one that let me SAVE_STATE and then LOAD_STATE so I could never fail at hacking, I hope they bring that back :P

Current funded amount: $682,329

So in a nutshell there's their $1m funding scheme. I think $1m is stretching it a little, but ya never know.

RIGGERRSSSSSssss

Hell yes

Do want

They get no love.  Just like deckers usually simulate things that are too /small/, riggers usually simulate things that are too /far away/.  No idea how this will work in the game but it sounds badass if they can pull it off.

OMG the tabletop rules were cumbersome and just plain useless half the time. I tend to thin that the only reason Shadowrun was so epic is the setting, seriously fuck the roluebook (i only played older versions). There used to be this thing where if you had an automatic weapon that could fire multiple bullets per turn, you would roll for each of those bullets and modify each bullet a little more to simulate inaccuracy from burst fire. Yeah thats was dumb, as a player I just wouldnt use those weapons because I hated it. As a GM I just change the rules.

I ran a pretty fun campaign based around piracy in the Carribean (this was over 15 years ago, waaaay before Mr. Depp). Lots of dreadlocked Rastafarian orcs and shit. Good times.

The mission editor in this sounds cool, I havent read everything but ar ethey playing online multiplayer? If so, this is going to be epic, but I wish it wasnt truly turn based, kinda slow for multiplayer.
