My understanding is that it is NOT dead, but rather was put on the back burner for the last 45 days or so due to personal issues, company structuring and some implied legal challenges. He has also kind of stated that the "game" will only be fun for a specific type of player with the current design.

(shrugs)

Notch does this for EVERYTHING!

Can't he just do ONE of his non-minecraft projects? He barely does minecraft.

He really should have named his company Vaporware... it really fits the theme.

I think "Mojang" is really Swedish for "gadget that may or may not exist". It can't properly be translated into English, as one of those untranslatable concepts, so it's just given as "gadget".

Why so aggro?

Because Scrolls dang it!

In grammatical, high-class, expanded form:

Because instead of working on either Minecraft (his cash cow) or 0x10^c (his innovative new game), Notch has most of his company working on a brainless, cliched, P2W strategy card game, condemn the matter!

I always wondered what was up with Scrolls. He made Minecraft, which became popular because of it's originality (yes yes, infiniminer, it is not the first block builder etc, but it is the first that many have played, and for most it was original). But everyone has played a strategy card game. How was this one supposed to give anything new to anyone?

Anyway, I hope 0x10c is still being worked on, since it seems like this game could be another original game. Although it would seem that having a chunk of the game require you to program would massively limit the audience (Im all for it, though).

Notch has not worked on minecraft for a long time. he has handed over the responsibility to his employees, so he can go work on new games or whatever he wants. The result this far has been much better and more frequent minecraft updates.

Also notch tweeted about 10^c 4 days ago, so stop fucking saying he is not working on it!
And remember he has been busy with Minecon and PAX and that huge party i forget what was for.

Scrolls was an attempt to make a card based strategy game that sort of evolved further then others of its type. Where cards arn't static and you can find a near infinite number of them.

I actually looked forward to seeing that game develop but for all I know scrolls doesn't exist.

There was this other card based strategy game that people posted here that was fantasy based... but I cannot remember its name for the life of me.

first off, sorry for posting too much in this thread.

Secondly, didn't they just announce an Alpha version of Scrolls?
Games that doesn't exist rarely makes it to Alpha.

EDIT: check out http://scrolls.com/
Alpha was updated no less than 4 days ago...

seriously, am i the only one with internet and twitter?

It certainly took them... well.

FOREVER!

Mind you judging by the website they certainly did NOT want you to know anything about the game even now. I mean... I know that apperantly you can sign up for the alpha, and that there was a alpha sign up much earlier something I would have certainly liked to have done and it apperantly had a prize if you did so, but it is so obscured through bad web design I am just going to give up on it.
