let us not forget that his code may very well be in java, but the graphic library doing the heavy work are opengl, wrapped in a c dll, exposed to java for convenience.

so, any comparison between languages alone is an uneducated pipe dream.

I'm honestly shocked that both the trolling and the game discussion here haven't been picked back up since *May*!

Well, is the game out yet?  Is there anything to discuss?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

So, who else looks forward to fighting a gigantic dick that spews out little dick drones from the front with a simple "ram and penetrate anything that is not dick-shaped" ai?

From reading the forum, it seems that Notch is taking the path of least resistance for everything except the emulated computer.

is this really death?

I tried to gather some idea by reading their forums but is a safe troll reproduction area right now.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

My understanding is that it is NOT dead, but rather was put on the back burner for the last 45 days or so due to personal issues, company structuring and some implied legal challenges. He has also kind of stated that the "game" will only be fun for a specific type of player with the current design.

Well, Notch keeps tweeting about programming 0x10^c, so presumably he is still programming it.

Also, this game will be a hardcore beast, only a small percentage of gamers will be able to play and enjoy this game.
Actual programming is a gameplay element. this is not unheard of in games, but all games using programming as a gameplay element are all obscure little things.
