A Massive Quarry

I'm destroying a whole mountain with my enthusiastic miners, but its leaving behind an unsightly map edge. Is there any way to remove the very edge tiles on the map or not? My Mayor has ordered that the soon to be newly created flat mountain must look perfect!

I don't think you can remove them. However, you can smooth the stone layers, add some constructions, and make it into some kind of monument.
