I would like to introduce the HellMOO / Wayfar crossover event extravaganza.  As I noted before, Wayfar is developed on the back of the now publicly available Hellcore, a useful set of extensions to the lambdamoo database.  It adds things like a main game loop, an $api interface where you can define methods & properties that can be applied to different objects, graphical meters and tables, json encode/decode utilities, etc.

OK So, Hellmoo & Wayfar are offering this sort of ... cross MOO promotion?  Or whatever, read & enjoy if you play either:

What about those who already did 10 reroll? Do they count? or do i have to start again from scratch? :(

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Just reroll again and you'll get the new job automatically.  The job sends a list of people who have completed it to hellmoo for the hellmoo award.

It should be quick - if it isn't in your spam folder or doesn't arrive, just email admin@wayfar1444.com from the email address you used with your character name and I'll get you one manually.

Just a quick bump for some updates since the last time - Wayfar's basic flash client is now available for free from the Google Chrome webstore: view Wayfar 1444 Free Web Client on Chrome Store

I'm interested in reports and feedback on phones as well, with its own app (several people use blowtorch to connect) or via the flash client.

A few more screens from the current game:

Preacher is now implemented, with a PREACH command that can buff anyone nearby once every 10 minutes, and a  BLESS command for sanctifying (healing) weapons & vehicles  8)

I've tried playing this with the blowtorch client on my phone, it plays really well. the only problems are blowtorch specfic ie lack of lack of horizontal screen space limits the line break to 50 coloums which results in the map and room description on the look command becoming interlaced.

my usual typing speed is above average but on a touch screen phone I find it drops to about 10 words per minute due to phat phumbs. makes playing a MUD challenging. which is why I have not been on chatnet.

My character Jims, is on planet FROG, is there a sector outpost there?

overall the game seems really good I can't wait for my day off so I can play it on my Computer like a normal(ish) person.

It's fun, if rather grindy.

How far in the future is this game set? Would you say it's... way far in the future?

How did I miss this the first time?  Posting to watch with interest; anything with roots in Hellmoo must be interesting.

Interesting game.  Set myself up with an automated miner and thermal collector.  Was going to have a lumber yard up as well, but crafting the AI for it would have taken too long.  Project for next time, then.
