Strand extractor migrants... Oh wait...

If only the player can find candy, how you can get migrants with the strand extracting skill?!

My theory is that dorfs and perhaps other mining races extract tiny amounts of adamantine from the walls of the shafts some how, perhaps it is dangerous. All it means is that one dwarf would be paid to labour for long periods of time efficiently getting adamantine out of the ore. Thats how i see it.

Obviously the mountainhomes know about the existence of adamantine, and even extract it and use it. Adamantine is not exported because of it's value, because a caravan could be ambushed and adamantine stuff stolen, because dwarves still want that metallurgical superiority.

Adamantine workers are all fine to export though.

Seems a valid argument, other than the fact that MOUNTAINHOMES DO NOT REALLY EXIST!
It is just a map marker with some people attached to it. ;D
