No. Let's  make the tea-plant from scratch.

Suggestions

List of effects from Earl Grey (What's the dwarfen word for earl and grey?)tea:
-Makes Urist McTeadrinker work slower, but produce a higher quality of item.

For Green Tea
-Urist McTeadrinker works faster, but is sleepier

For Rooibos Tea
-Urist McTeadrinker has a temporary boost in strength and agility
-Urist McTeadrinker takes more damage from attacks.

For Quarry Bush Tea
-Urist McTeadrinker changes perception: his creations show peculuar objects.

In making tea, a new reaction would have to be made:
water gathered+processed tea leaf (processed at farm wksp)= 1 barrel tea, drunk with mugs in meeting hall or tea room. Milk and sugar can be added for higher value. A tea room would be like a meeting hall, but only for nobles and other enlightened beings who drink tea. Would only be available when tea has been made.

Any other thoughts?

1. Earl Grey is a branded tea, not a type of tea. No thanks.
2. Green Tea making Dwarfs work faster and more lax?

Wat

Also Green Tea doesn't do that.

No, you're wrong. Earl Grey is NOT a "brand" it's a blend of flavours
In response to point #2 NO. YOU ARE WRONG AGAIN. THIS IS DWARF FUCKING FORTRESS. REALISM IS DEAD.
Doing this with quarry bush is lazy.

Clearly, none of you have any idea what a good beverage is. Tea is truly at its best only when it is in excessive amounts, loaded with an explosion of flavor, and then loaded with with great amounts of sugar to amplify that flavor.

The same goes with coffee, but loaded with great amounts of creamer as well.

Hahahaha noooooo. Dwarf Fortress is trying to be insanely realistic.

I think tea should just be tea. Normal tea, no other effects apart from working faster and an inability to sleep, maybe.

I am everything.

KodKod's kobold cult will kill you in your sleep.

But really, I would love this. I would have it given to prisoners to deny them sleep. That would be all they get, sleep and starve, or drink and live. Forever.....

milk in tea?

Dafuq?

We English put milk in our tea, and nobody knows more about tea than the English.

Some things are simply immutable laws of the universe.

So if we put it in an adamantine cup, it won't need milk.

We're ignoring the pressing issue. Do we use quarry leaves or make our own plant(s)?
If the latter, what properties should it have?
