If the FB has a dust attack or a passive gas attack, you could lock it up behind fortifications, in front of which is a hatch. Dump weapons/bolts from above onto the hatch. Open the hatch remotely, so the weapons fall into a collection area. Close the hatch. Safely collect poisoned weapons.

I'd just get husks of dwarves, cover them in poison, and chuck em into a siege.

I discovered a long time ago that if a Leech forgotten beast sucks the blood of a dwarf covered in the poisonous blood of another forgotten beast, the leech suffers the blood effects.  It was glorious.

Gas doesnt spatter, only vapor does, and mayby dust too, i stil have to test that.

Whatever it's called, when it just periodically gives off clouds of stuff that coat everything. Is that a thing? It's been a while since I've seen a forgotten beat do that. Heck, it's been a while since I've seen one, period.
