I've used the same setup here that I used to get chickens to breed earlier, but that was before the new domestication system. What I wanted to do was to get fully domesticated crundles, instead of the forgetful ones I have.

I am actually reasonably certain that all eggs are "fertile". If they don't hatch after a certain amount of time, just remove them and have the mother lay eggs again.

...That would imply that Crundles traveled back in time from v.34.

Space Crundles.

Yeah, here's the problem: I had seven parallel nestboxes full of eggs... after I had tried twice earlier to get them to hatch in different circumstances. You can get the full story in the bug description. It is highly unlikely that all of these were randomly nonfertile. It is somewhat more likely, as Quietust speculates, that this is a Dungeon Master issue.

Space Crundles.
Traveling from the future versions feature of the game into the older versions lore.

Perfect developer logic.

What this means is that in the future Toady will implement time travel. "The spinning paradox strikes tahujdt in the logic and the severed part sails off in an arc!

If this is true, future Toady has already implemented time travel...

It appears that crundles lack the [CHILD] tag. THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING.

Why the fuck would you want to breed crundles anyway? For food? Leather? USE CAVE CROCS.
For an army? What? kittens are better warriors!
For show? Crundles are ugly mutts that noone wants!

1. You get to say you've bred crundles.

That's reason enough.

And a reason not to.

This assumes the stable time loop theory. With a multiple universes theory, or a no one gives a damn about logic theory, he could implement time travel later and not have it take effect until the future's yesterday.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Which could be in our past. Meaning it's possibly already been implemented before future Toady's existence, by future Toady.
