Toughen up your miners and/or don't send solitary dwarfs unescorted into monster-infected caverns? :)

I drained their little devil pond.

Result: GCS spawned.

But HERE's the newspaper tiltle:

Just as the GCS came towards the cavern bridge (no dwarfes in sight) a GREMLIN randomly pulled the lever that hoists the bridge up.

2 seconds later it is in a cage trap. JOYS OF DF!!!

You probably shouldn't have levers that close to gremlins are playing Dwarf Fortress right.

Didn't you know?

The problem is that zombies don't give a crap about poison or headshots unless the said headshot removes its head.

They do give a crap about headbites as long as the GCS manages to shake.

I haven't tamed my GCS. I find that web production, either for the silk farm, or for webbing over traps, is easier to manage with a wild GCS, and tame bait, than with a tame GCS, and wild bait.

Cage traps to weaken sieges a bit = goblin 'subjects'.
No pathing required = easy!
(anyway, i fend my first few sieges with lots of cagespam)
