So, now that Jim is gone, should we, uhh, see if we can get that slab off of Grate? I think we all know what we'll find, but we could at least scrape something up for them to bury.

If Miyamoto agrees, lend a hand in lifting the rock, or at least scraping up what's left. If not, just follow Miyamoto.

Charles texted me, saying that Grate had died, and to ask Xan for the details. when I asked Xan, he said that Grate was killed by a rock, and blamed "a robot" for having a "manipulator overload". When I pressed him on which robot it was, he texted me that he didn't know because he couldn't read.

Do either of you have any objections to me killing him on sight, permanently? or do you have questions to ask the murderer before he dies?

Maybe he's getting text data input and output directly through the brain via implant? That'd explain both how he keeps in radio contact, and how he sends and receives messages without being able to read.))

I don't know whether you've heard, but that kid you were with is gone. Someone's, I think it may have been Stacy's, manipulator overloaded, and though they got it into the room where the amp specialist was hiding, he shielded himself and we got the short end of the stick, so to speak. Or maybe he tossed some of the chaos back at us, I don't know. All I know is the kid had a big piece of rock fall on him, we couldn't even see him afterwards. not going to say he's dead - like I said, we didn't see a body or any other indication, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

If it's any consolation, after it happened and the specialist came out of hiding unharmed, Jim obliterated him. Not even a body left to inspect, he's gone.

If Miyamoto agrees with Morul, assist them with extraction of likely Gratepaste.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't Xan. If Xan had suffered an amplifier overload, he would most likely have been the first casualty. Also, as far as I know he doesn't have a matter manipulation amp - only a microwave amp. However, I'm certain he's lying about who did it to protect them. Accidents happen all the time, Lyra. I should know better than anyone. Just look at Simus for proof.

In the end, I don't know if it matters who caused the manipulator overload. He never should have been in the middle of the fight in the first place. All of us share the blame for letting him be out there, and pointing fingers isn't going to make this have never happened.
