"To the elevator. We're going to take it back up and assist Miyamoto's team in hunting down the remaining forces."

Jim leads his team (excluding Flint, who's already there) back to the elevator.

"Hmm. Do you remember what floor we were stopped on? It might be a good idea to check that one out."

((I take it Steve doesn't need to go dark for the control room?   Makes you wonder which team PW expected to get to their destination first, since the control room seems to have been better protected.))

Lars bows his head deeply.  "Yes, General Jim.  Let us move."

Move out!

Inquire and wait.

I am the Silent Guardian, my gaze ever vigilant, my focus unfaltering, my head being its own thrash compactor/Death Metal band hybrid.

Also, send this to dear ol' Steve:

Hey Steve, nice to hear back from you. I am obliged to inform you though that we did some redecorating while you were gone. We really didn't like that wall, it just made the place feel so cramped, you know.
Oh, and there may or may not be an Amp Specialist somewhere on the bottom of that crater, maybe you could use whatever sensors you have down there to check? Cause otherwise we'll have to hunt him down to.

Anyways, once you're done taking over this control room, will we still need to defend it? Or can we head back after this? Because Auron is injured and could use a medic. And maybe Bishop and I can help track down the stragglers.

Ask Steve:
"That's good to hear. Once we're done with the place, it will be a monument to human ingenuity and a symbol of the future, that's for sure. And to our efforts as the HMRC. Just don't overdo it. We don't need a planet of gray goo or another quiet world. Unless it can produce kickass equipment. Then it's cool. Speaking of, any ideas for weapons or spaceships? What are we going to defend this place with?"

"Wait, why would we need a supervisor for the planet? I mean, I understand that it would be good, having a human you can trust on the ground instead of an AI. For one, it would mean the humans here had a leader they could relate to. But do we need someone to take administrative decisions or someone to lead the defense? Or was... was there a problem with ARES?"

"Oh, and can you order the Sods to lie face down on top of their weapons with their hands above their heads from the PA? The ones that aren't being mind controlled should obey, right? Might help us find those guys."

"Finally, should we send a tech to repair Joker's sabotage now that we have most systems under control?"

"To the elevator. We're going to take it back up and assist Miyamoto's team in hunting down the remaining forces."
"Hmm. Do you remember what floor we were stopped on? It might be a good idea to check that one out."
"Finally. This mission was starting to feel more like paid vacation and less like war. Not that  I'm complaining, mind you. Just hope the others did okay while we were down here.
Anyway, I think it was around floor 50 or so. Should I take us there?"

Make the elevator go up. Sword level, level 50, whatever Jim says. I'm guessing the elevator will take a few turns to get us there either way.

"Thanks, Flint. 50 it is." Jim folded his sets of arms. "Yeah, I'm waiting for the real shit to hit the fan, myself. But then again, Steve has been planning this for who knows how long. I guess this is what it's like to have someone competent in charge?" He shrugged.

Jim sort of half-scoffed, half-laughed in response to that. "Hell, you may be right. Let's see if we can keep this run going, eh?"

Jim leads his team (excluding Flint, who's already there) back to the elevator.

"Hmm. Do you remember what floor we were stopped on? It might be a good idea to check that one out."

"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE! to the elevator."

You grab both Lars and Mesk in head locks and drag them back to the elevator where Flint and Lukas are already waiting.

"Well, at least you're polite about it. So, thanks Steve. How's things been on your end? Find or do anything interesting?"

Inquire and wait.

>I dunno. What do you consider interesting? Do you consider a Pleasuredome interesting? Because we have one of those. Though this one wasn't decreed by Kubla Khan at Xanadu.

>Acceptable. I expected more, actually. A fight between two amp users usually either ends very fast or is very drawn out. Usually with a great degree of property damage on either side. As per this amp specialist; did you see him die? As in can you see a body? Because if not, assume he's alive. I can't sense him, but assume he's alive and angry.

Ask Steve:

This place has a great defense array already. Lasers that can cut anything that comes close to this planet to shreds. Thats why we came here as we did; we wouldn't survive a head on assault. We wouldn't even get close. These defenses should be good enough, but we'll improve them with time.

Having someone here I can trust would be helpful. Plus a human supervisor is easier for humans to accept and follow. Easier to talk to and understand. It's good to have a physical presence, a face. Not to mention it's always good to have someone around who can disagree and offer other options.

Any Sods not being mind controlled are probably passive by now. If you see them just standing around, just don't shoot them and you'll be fine.

It's not much of a priority otherwise I would have had them do it already. The things that that disconnect cut weren't really related to ARES's sensors or anything.

You press "50" on the panel and the elevator starts upwards, grinding a bit under the weight.

Clap in hands excitedly as the rest of the team returns.

head back to my team and the magic loot boxes.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

>At this point it seems like our biggest and really, last problems are any remaining UE's, The SW and the amp specialist. From this point on, we need to start focusing in on them. We're gonna need to form hunting parties, so to speak. We need powerful amp users to fight the Specialist. The SW is probably going to be more  a matter of having enough eyes and ears scattered around to pin point his location and then the capacity to get a high degree of force over to that location quickly. The UE...well he's probably bugging out as we speak, looking for a way to send a message for reinforcements. Semi-luckily, the ship yard is nuked and connections have been severed so thats going to be hard.

We focus on the SW and Specialist for now. Jim, Miyamoto, you two are in charge of splitting up the forces as you see fit. We're going straight offense here, so the defense team is all yours.
