"Steve. Just incase I've forgotten something on the way here, I want you to walk me through all the things you want me to do. Then send me a text copy to my wrist computer, just in case.

Also, are you still going to be able to do what you need to do when I plug you in? Do we need to wait until you are ready or something when you're done with whatever it is you're going to do? And Auron has just seen someone in a wheelchair that was facing us shoot a large amount of very hot fire at us through the door to the control room. Got anything on that and how to deal with it?"

Bishop glanced to the hulking form of Miyamoto and radioed him.

"Sound like some kind of amp specialist. Think you can take him from here?"

Question Steve and check ammo and fuel levels. Prepare to breach the control room!

"I've got several ways to kill everything in there. Problem is that most of 'm end up with that room completely destroyed. Hmm. Laser isn't an option, would go straight through the consoles. Could rip open the door more, but that gives them more time for whatever they are doing in there. And my amp... Would probably work like a charm here, if not that my Avatar likes to take over when I use it to murder stuff harder than intended. Could jam the flammenwerfer in there and light the place up, but we all know how well that went last time. We really could've used some 'nades at this point, huh?

How 'bout this: I try to use my amp to only hit the one in the wheelchair, I think I can manage that without melting the walls off. Then I give that door another good shove and you two go in and deal with whatever is still in there. Sound like a plan?"

Using Auron's knowledge of where our mystery paraplegic is, use micro amp to create small heatblade (about 20cmX60cmX1mm, give or take depending on how good I can pinpoint where he is) at his approximate location. Aim for center of mass (higher chance of hitting, right?). Use cameyes to get better idea of his position (without actually looking through the hole) if possible. Once done, give door a few more good punches until rest team can enter at once. Enter once they're in.

((Let's pray to the RNG for anything below 4. Though a 6 is probably not a melt-everything level catastrophe.

Probably...))

... Oh wait, yes, one thing. Is there anything we can do from this control room you can't do once you have ARES? Anything this place controls that falls outside of ARES' influence?"

bring up the area map created by my echolocation program and tell miyamoto the exactish distance to mr wheelchair mage.

Once miyamoto has done his thing move back next to the hole and stick my arm through allowing gungnir to fire up to twice before taking cover again.

>At this point, just clear out the control room and be ready to plug yourself in once I come back. Thats about it.

>As per the wheelchair guy, sounds like an Amp Specialist. Be careful of them, they employ some of the same technology as a ghostship; they keep themselves basically comatose, all life functions maintained artificially, and their entire mind focused on the use of their amps. They're extremely powerful and are adept at protecting themselves. You won't beat them with head on assaults.

Fuel levels are good, around 80%,  and ammo is nearly full too.

>I don't really know. That why I have you up there. ARES is more in control of the production systems in the planet's crust then these administrative systems. There are probably dozens of arrays and systems that ARES doesn't control simply because they're not part of his production system.

[Dex:4+1]
[uncon:4+1+1+1]
A shimmering heat blade appears in front of you,  and swells violently, bloating into a massive cudgel of white hot energy. It begins to slowly grind forward through space when something comes from the hole in the door. A spike of supercooled air that pierces straight into the heatblade and expands within it. They both swell and distort before bursting into nothing, cancelling each other out.

"Uh...Thats..."

The blast door rips free from it's hinges and slams into you. You and it continue back into the wall and are embedded several feet into the concrete.

"Ow."

bring up the area map created by my echolocation program and tell miyamoto the exactish distance to mr wheelchair mage.

Once miyamoto has done his thing move back next to the hole and stick my arm through allowing gungnir to fire up to twice before taking cover again.

You stare in disbelief at the metal door embedded in the wall, the faint outline of miyamoto budging out of behind it. You look back the control room. The man in the wheelchair is rolling slowly forward. He's a bizarre sight, shrunken, pale and thin, face hidden behind an oxygen mask and head hanging limp. His wheelchair rolls without any sort of means of locomotion and the air around him is distorting randomly, like the shimmer of light through water.

((Boss level! Aaaaand it's Ravenor. Fuck.

I'll have to think about this. To bad I didn't get a 5 or he should've been dead either way (no way he can disable a heatblade materializing inside him, right? Right?).
Let me review our assets for a sec.

I'm starting to wonder what the dex roll was for though. It clearly wasn't for avoiding that blast door. Probably allowed me to take a shot in the first place. I'm hoping pw won't just make him heatblade our asses, cause if he does there is probably very little we could do about that.

Here's hoping the 'three amps max' rule also applies to npc's. If so, he can't have more than three, and possibly only two if he has a decomp. Or maybe he has some sort of universal amp, if that exists. That would suck, in regards to our continued existance. And I wonder if pw is tracking this guy's will points, if so we can try to wear him down. but if he has a basically infinite amount (or so much he won't run out in the coarse of one battle) then we can't win by attrition.)

"Oh god, ouch. I would've felt that if I were still a squishy human.

Why is there another horrendously powerful warrior behind every door we enter? This is getting ridiculous.

Ok guys, this calls for some underhanded tactics. Little to late for an ambush, so we'll have to force him to divide his concentration and try to distract him. Auron, use your electrolaser, either on him or anything near him that can conduct it to him. Bishop, try to get behind him, shoot him when he's distracted. We need to divide his attention so he can't stop our attacks at the same time."

Throw my I-beam at him, as well as debris nearby (like from the blast door). While he's (hopefully) distracted by this, employ amp to make the ground around him come up and crush him with the floor (is this clear? Basically think Miya is an earthbender here and tries to use the ground to crush him). Do this while he is defending from either the debris flying at him or the stuff my teammates are shooting at him. If he throws up a wall of material to defend himself from our initial attacks, use that material as well to crush him (this would probably use the grav amp, right?).

If he tries to use his amp offensively, use my manipulator to try and counter whatever it is he's doing.

((This plan, by the way, is the one I'll stick to until either someone has a brilliant idea or I have the chance to think of a better one and actually come online fast enough to post it (fat chance).

I am half entertaining the idea of simply retreating and shooting him safely from afar using Auron's echolocation thingy. But since I have no idea how accurate that thing is, i'll keep that as a plan B.

And I'm suddenly reminded of the people complaining only veteran people were going on this mission. I am suddenly wondering if they still wish they were here.))

((Auron would probably be fried, but Bishop has the mobility to get away, and you have a universal amp which you could use to counter on a good reaction roll.

Right now your immediate options are to A) throw everything you have at the guy (also known as the Worf Barrage), B) say "fnck it" and topple the building, or C) "Summon Bigger Fish". You know the fish I'm talking about. If things go exceedingly bad, Steve may have to send her out one way or another.))

((Can't destroy the building, still need it. Worf barrage seems best option, but, well, Steve said that probably won't work. And waiting for the AM to get here... Kinda lame, wouldn't you say? It'd take quite long for her to get here, and even then it would basically be letting an npc play the game for us. And pw probably won't let us do that.

Worf barrage it is!

Or I could release the inhibitors and see where that brings us. But that is something like plan E, or maybe even as far back as R or something.

I am currently banking on the idea that we have numerical advantage, and thus we have more action (more rolls) to get in hits. If this was a player char, I know he wouldn't have a big lot of amp usage before running low and getting penalties, but that isn't something we can reliably build upon. So trying to get in many different kinds of attacks so he can't counter them all at once is what I'm going for. If we all use projectile-based weaponry, he'll just throw up a wall of material to shield himself, or even send the projectiles back. Manipulators he can obviously counter already. But I don't think he can use different amps at the same time. We'll find out soon enough though...

And hey, if all else fails we can just have Bishop do a high speed fly by to rip off his gasmask and let the bugger choke to death.))

begin moving around quickly and erratically whilst firing my electrolaser at proffesor x in continuous pulses as i do so.

If i cannot shoot him directly aim for his wheelchair and anything conductive he makes contact with.

If i still cant hit him cut my losses at perform a rocket assisted thrust with my reiterpallasch the moment he decides upon a target, or looks at me funny.

"Don't retreat, MOVE FORWARD! Running away is not going to cut it against this monster! We've got to keep moving and divide his attention! Try to disrupt his life support Miya!" Bishop broadcasted to the others as he prepared to move.

Get Auron moving into the room with me and split up, heading onto one flank while he goes on the other side. Slide into cover quickly and lay down some fire on the other people in the room if needed, but otherwise, blast a few shots near the specialist (at his feet particularly) to get some shrapnel flying at him. Keep moving and stay out of sight as much as possible!
