Stacy, Team C Loafer, In Prison.

"Corpses, corpses and more corpses. And then some more corpses. Seems like all we do is loot corpses, look at corpses and more recently move future corpses. These corpses everywhere are really starting to tick me off."

Look around for some informative materials on what might have happened here. Look for references to the doctors.

Move to the back of the prison, Search any area that hasn't been explored yet. Be sure to check every corpse for useful items/info.

Waiting a bit to see if I should start fiddling with controls.

Collect the most intact and least filthy armor, put it on under the phase suit, if possible. make sure it's all working correctly by attempting to "phase through" a cell door, but not actually entering the cell.

You won't be able to get the armor on under the suit, though you could get it on OVER it.

Check the bodies for skeletal damage, as well as anything they may be carrying that would be helpful. Take the holsters for the weapons, put on the armor, etc.
A few bodies have broken bones but thats already pretty obvious even without x-rays.

You grab some of the body armor and put it on, even though it's much less protective then the armor you already have. That done you strip the pistol holsters from the remaining bodies.

[Team A Medic - Mesk]

"Everyone who isn't a giant death robot like them or a super regenerating super hero like me should get some armour on.  The less work I have to do the happier I'll be."
Get some body armour on anyway - an ounce of prevention etc.  Then form up with Jim.
"So, are we looking for the people who massacred these guys?"
You grab some armor and stick it on before wandering back to jim.

(Before I answer Remalle... Is the prison really so small that Milno already explored the entire second floor? It looked bigger on the map. O.o)
there are about, say, 60 cells on each level of the prison. So no, he hasn't carefully explored all of them or anything, but since they have bars for doors it's pretty easy to see they're empty, at least of people.

Check around to see if there's some sort of prison warden room and anything of note in there. Also look for any datapads that might be lying around.
You wander into the same room that Sambo did a moment ago. There are no datapads around, but there is a computer terminal.

Team D Leader Faith, Prison

"Do I count as a giant robot?" Faith asked Mesk teasingly.

Inspect that back room/locker area, Lukas-first.

Lukas can't exactly fit his giant ass into this back room so you go in on your own...well, as on your own as you can when Sambo and Kyle are already bopping about back there.

The locker room is fairly small, clearly only made for a few people, dozen at most. Each locker has a little white square for a name to be printed on, but only three of the lockers seem to have been claimed. Two of these have been pried open and the third looks like someone started to  but then gave up. You search through the two lockers that are open and don't find much; blue uniform, a hat, pictures  taped to the inside of the door, a datapad with nothing but some games, music and a book or two on it. You find an ID in one of the pockets of the uniforms. The picture shows a normal looking guy dressed in the uniform, and the card identifies him as a "Senior guard".

[Team B Leader=Milno]

"Anything noteworthy?" Milno asks, arms behind his head leisurely.

Re-check the top level for signs of life and/or objects of interest, if nothing is found then move back downstairs.

Spoiler: A-B Teams (click to show/hide)

You can see from where you are that there isn't anyone alive in these cells, unless they're flat or invisible, but there are things in the cells. You check the first 20 or so. You find a mini-datapad stuck under one of the beds in the cells as well as a few other bits of contraband- the normal drugs, porn and shivs. Whoever was guarding these guys wasn't doing a very good job.

Jobasio glanced back inside, saw the others still wandering about, and sighed. He eased himself down into a sitting position against the wall to one side, placed his rifle across his legs and got out his datapad.
'At least I have a bit of time to work on this, finally. Successful idea or not, it certainly beats staring at mangled corpses.'

>Sit to one side of the prison entrance and work on the design for that 'gauss rifle targeting shield' I described earlier.

>Keep my rifle handy just in case any hostiles should appear from who-knows-where. Glance down the hall every so often to check.
At best all you're gonna be able to do here is scribble out pictures on a datapad or take notes on what you want it to be, so if you want to do that, MSpaint up a picture or write down some notes because you don't have tinker out here.

"I found a data pad... reading it now."

Do so.  Also loot body armor if I can wear it.
You grab the last suit of armor before reading through the pad.

The pad has nothing else on it but what look like official order forms, commands from Governor to Someone identified as "Chief of Police Tein."  The orders go back for quite a while, and are all very banal, up until recently. They begin to go from judgements on misdemeanors and warrants for arrest to commands to incarcerate large groups and enforce curfews.  Then there's a blank spot, an area over the course of two weeks where either nothing happened or the reports have been deleted. Following that blank there is one last report. It's not on an official order form, it's just a note with the words "Purge the Prison."

Check somewhere where the others haven't for signs of life. Be careful of lurking prisoners.
You wander into the laundry room and raid the washers. Oddly, you find no prisoners lurking in the lint traps.

((Ty Irony, just re-read.

And yes, Exams are the culprit as well as holiday preparations. Also, apologies if any of my descriptions delve into medical terminology, my studies are swimming in my head O_o))

((It's a well known fact that on a female prisoner's suit the cameras are located both inside and outside the suit, in various revealing locations. Because it keeps Steve and Command happy.))

"Yeah, I will take a pistol if that'd be ok. A spare clip if you've got any as well. There's probably going to be a ton of bullet-catchers for us to use at the prison."

Take pistol that was offered a turn or so ago. Start moving to the prison area.

((I wonder if PW will leave us on a cliffhanger, or just something incredbily amusing before he goes on break?
"A rock falls from the ceiling, hitting all of you. You all rolled a two for endurance. I'll tell you what happened to everyone after christmas."
:)  ))  :o
((Also, if this was IC, I'd be killing you.))

Feyri Nirel ; Team C Mercenary, Topographically near Milno.

Feyri tapped on her wristpad, saving some pertinent information as to the illness.

Quote from: Feyri Nirel ; Personal Diary//Off Datapad log
So the colony doctors have diagnosed it spreading orally, via any expectoration...containing the person's blood. So that means the pathogen exists in the bloodstream, probably the medium of transport or preferred environment. Unsure whether viral, bacterial or parasitic. Fungi are clear off...unless there is something that can survive without oxygen. Er...

Still, this place gives me the creeps. Jim is doing fine, as well as the rest. Command is being a secret seal of information regarding basic information, we're being used as minesweepers (see: Human Minesweeping.), and they probably are doing something above us and not telling us on whatever is going on. But maybe that's just me adapting to dehumanization due to our [STUPID] dictatorial hierarchy.

I'm glad we've these MK I suits...

Have to watch out for any exposed wounds, any material shields would do for small arms fire. Wonder what really happened and why nobody even had a leash on the governor...There are supposed to be laws and ordinances regarding this! Or did their law system fall into decay? Nevertheless...I really have to be direct to the point with all these blueshirts ignoring my questions.

"I'm guessing we're still sticking with the teams we've been set in despite being together, right?"

Examine the bloodstains. In their full description. Is there anything wrong with it - other than being clotted if any - like the composition or color?

Spoiler: Team C and D (click to show/hide)

There doesn't look to be anything wrong with the blood. Well, it's clearly pretty old, dried and dark, not just clotted but actually like dried and staining the ground as a solid, powdery film, but thats it. It's not obviously viral or evil or alien looking at least. It's just old, dried blood.

Gonna have to be a bit more specific about where to look.

Move to the back of the prison, Search any area that hasn't been explored yet. Be sure to check every corpse for useful items/info.

You head to the back of the prison and find a door with the label "Kitchen." Unfortunately you're too large to get through.

"I think you have some blood on your faceplate. Let me get that for you."

Open mine and brother Lars' faceplate before reading, so that the cameras won't see what's written.

You open both of your face plates and then read with Lars, seeing what he sees.

"tell me your secret, corpses. also give me your stuff, daddy wants a mission trophy"

You've basically been beaten to the punch by the rest of the vultures. Pity.

You lean against the wall and await orders to open, close or otherwise modify the existence of the cell doors.

"Found a small datapad here." Milno said before starting to read it before resuming his task.

Read datapad, keep checking the next cells afterwards.

Sambo - Team D - Inside admin area, ground floor of prison.

Turn on the computer terminal, see what available options there are on the screen. See if there's a data-storage unit, or if it's just a screen and controller/keyboard. Check for really obvious bits of paper or things that are scribbled down in case incompetant colonial police officers/prison guards forget the password to the terminal.

((Yes, many major organisations have passwords to their mainframes on a post-it note beside the terminal. Or under the desk. Sometimes they even take the security measure of writing the password backwards! I have worked in places like this. ))

"Any of you any good with computers? There might be more on this than any of those data-pads."

((Wait, does this mean Lukas is larger than my exoskeleton, or did I just clamber out of it to get in there?))

Team D Leader Faith, Lockers

"I'm decent with them. I'll come take a look in a minute, but I doubt there'll be anything major."

Examine datapad, compare to the datapads we have back on ship.

Then pry open that third locker and take a looksie. Open up a blank locker or two to double-check they're empty as well.

"I don't think you'll be needing this anymore..."

Wear a police armor and pin a badge on it. Then go exploring the other cells. If everything on this floor has been checked, check the second floor.

"I was thinking, the people we're going to see on the lower levels are either civilians, who would probably be happy to see us, miners, who probably wouldn't attack me on sight due to my mining suit or G-men. With this police uniform I may be able to convince them I'm on their side since the police had been doing their dirty job, killing and imprisoning those who opposed them."
