"...I guess the doc already showed enough heroism." Milno says, convinced Maurice already showed enough action movie heroism to woo Simus and it is about time to prevent him from busting his legs.
Move down and take Simus from Maurice, carry her to the rest of the group.
You walk down the ramp and take Simus from Maurice, throwing her over your shoulder. You're not quite sure what to do with her now though.
"We still need to explore where the sand went, and figure out what this place does, if possible. Plus, I need time to read this, it might give us some important clues."
Begin reading journal.
The journal is long and meandering, often times nonsensical and seemingly nothing but a stream of consciousness, the writings of a man lost in darkness for far too long. But somewhere, hidden in the madness, you can see glimpses of information. You just need to pry them out.

It looks like he had been exploring this place a good deal, doing most of it without light even. He talks about being able to visualize everything based on sound, how sound is all important in this world. From there it becomes more and more disjointed, fragments and exclamations. He thinks that the tower and the citadel-a series of 5 buildings arrayed in a pentagon with sixth central building- aren't structures for living in, or even structures at all, but enormous and complex sonic machines, their odd shapes and complex rooms designed to focus and manipulate sound in a specific way. The reason for these structures is to "Hold back the endless tide of the servitor creators" and that the sound "Holds back the creatures that would, unchecked breed endlessly and swallow the world; gorging on sound." He goes on to say that "The Fall is a remnant of the hordes withheld, marker of the unbelievable antiquity of their actions."
The rest is gibberish, just attempts to "read sound" and his desire to "Once more hear the beating heart of this city."
Tear some flesh off the corpse, put it in a jar.
"Science!"
"SCIENCE!"you scream as you rip a bit of the leathery flesh off and jam it in a jar.
"We should leave while we can. All the clues indicate these citadels are the same, this is probably one of 100s. We got the corpse, let's go. I've had enough of this place.
...
May, what are you doing!? It's a corpse for Pete's sake, give it some respect!"
Travis attempts to stop May from desecrating the corpse
(Since you didn't say "Physically stop" I'll assume you don't want to try and grab her)
You give may a stern talking to about the sanctity of the dead while she happily tears bits of the body off.
...Oh, thanks. Hmmm, back there? Unless you know a safe place, or are willing to carry her, I feel I have to advise against that.
Still, it is indeed a little safer with the team than otherwise.
Don't resist being helped; sit down just there (a little closer to the wall and further from the edge, if possible) and rest.
We haven't located the source of the sound yet, and it is very likely that's another tuning device. Grab that one and make a run for the shuttle, I'd say.
You sit down, resting your legs, and tap your helmet against the wall, trying to ignore the pain. Ow.
