((@piecewise Was it that the bonus was hidden and you displayed only the net result, or did I have some kind of penalty to my medicine roll?))

What if both of them are dying? But shouldn't Faith have mentioned pain in that case? Yes, unless she doesn't feel pain anymore... The choice. That damn choice. I hate this very kind of choice.
Maurice sighed, then smiled again.
Miss Ferratum-Inanis? Sure, I'm here. Miss Valentine, would you - ah, I'll turn my attention to the other patient, then, if you don't mind. Just don't overdo it, and call me if you need, eh, a helping hand. Maurice settled his mind as he saw Faith going for her own injuries.

Examine Simus's injuries.

Attempt again, defy the laws of mammaries.
[str:5]
You shift your assets around and then start climbing again, this time with considerably greater ease. You make it all the way up to the same level as the walkway.

Try to fix own hand, then.
[med:6+1]
"Hand is broken! Hand is weak! HAND MUST DIE!"

You whip out your cutting torch and proceed to sever your hand off at the wrist, cauterizing the wound as you do. That done, you grab the hand and hold it above your head, screaming
"THE HAND IS DEAD!"

Travis takes a piton and tries to hammer it into the wall, testing the wall's structural integrity.
You take one of the Pitons and place it against the wall, lining it up before hammering it in. It seems to go fairly easily without any sort of abnormal resistance.

It wasn't hidden so much as I rolled other things with it and kept it in my head as 2+1 which just became 3 when I wrote it.

Looks like she's got an acute case of "Falling from a high place and landing on your head" syndrome.

"Well, congratz then." Milno quipped before turning to Travis.

"Hey loner, will you try the climbing gear? I though there was a reason there is a rope here instead of pitons, but apparently I was wrong." he said, shrugging aftwerwards.

"Apparently the wall isn't as hard as it seems then."

Check the wall surface for indents or small holes denoting previous use of climbing gear. Stay prepared for catching falling people/almost people anyway.

Already on it Milno. Got a few more tests to run for safety concerns."

Travis uses his foot to see how much downward force the planted piton can take.

((@piecewise Ah, sure. Sorry for asking. ))
I shall now inform you, Miss Valentine, that your hand is likely to be dead, indeed, when we come back on board. And by 'dead' I mean 'non-revivable'. ...Oh, and just in case of a misunderstanding, I shall as well inform you that severing a hand doesn't make a person a better medic, according to my experience.
Well, I guess we have another person to be hauled up there.

Have a look at the severed hand and see if it can be reattached in field (with the use of the advanced kit, of course).

"Oh, no. Oh no oh no." Charro groaned as he watched the stupidity taking place before him.
"What's going on? Why are you mutilating yourself? Is there some kind of. Um, mind-control thingy up there?"

He eyed the rope upwards skeptically. "All-in-all, I'd rather take the stairs. I know what happened last time I tried to climb something. Actually no I don't." He rubbed his head absently. "I just vaguely remember something bad happened that ended with me waking up in an infirmary bed."

Charro steps over towards the injured two, offering words of comfort as Maurice went to work.

>Offer words of comfort to the new cripple!

>Also be on standby to aid Maurice by passing him things from the medical kit.

Get a view of current surroundings and whatever my team's doing.
You can't see a whole lot, though the length of ropelight going up through one side of the walk way and out the other does make it easier, but you can see that you're hanging near the walk way. As per your teammates, looks like Milno is standing under you, faith just cut off her own hand for some reason and Simus is kinda flailing. Everyone else isn't moving much.

((Oh come on. ಠ_ಠ))
Your hand is no longer a problem is it?  :P

Simus shakes her head.

Faith, it is official, you are incompetent.

Examine self for injuries.
[med:4-1-1]
You're pretty sure that....you...uh...you can't really concentrate. Gahh your head hurts.

((Oh come on. ಠ_ಠ))
((ahahahaha oh wow))

"Well, congratz then." Milno quipped before turning to Travis.

"Hey loner, will you try the climbing gear? I though there was a reason there is a rope here instead of pitons, but apparently I was wrong." he said, shrugging aftwerwards.

"Apparently the wall isn't as hard as it seems then."

Check the wall surface for indents or small holes denoting previous use of climbing gear. Stay prepared for catching falling people/almost people anyway.

You take a look at the wall, glancing back and forth between May on the rope and the sandstone surface. You don't see any sort of markings on the wall.

"Not the time to be playing games Faith.

...

Already on it Milno. Got a few more tests to run for safety concerns."

Travis uses his foot to see how much downward force the planted piton can take.
You step up on the Piton and put your weight on it in increments. It seems to take your weight, but it doesn't seem very sturdy, like a few good yanks might pull it out.

((@piecewise Ah, sure. Sorry for asking. ))
I shall now inform you, Miss Valentine, that your hand is likely to be dead, indeed, when we come back on board. [med:2+1]
You pick up the hand and flop it around a bit before trying to push it back onto the stump. It doesn't seem to work.

"Oh, no. Oh no oh no." Charro groaned as he watched the stupidity taking place before him.
"What's going on? Why are you mutilating yourself? Is there some kind of. Um, mind-control thingy up there?"

[speech:1]

"AAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" You point at Faith and slap your knee, bent over and shaking with laughter. "You cut your own hand off! Who the fuck does that? Who does that?!"

"Ahaha! Ahahahah!" Charro finally regained his composure, sheepishly attempting to wipe away the tears of laughter through his faceplate. "Ahem. Forgive me. But really, your own hand?! You cut off your own hand! Heh. Heheh-- Sorry."

>Stop. Talking.

>Look dignified yet apologetic.

Well, let us try solving your little problem, Miss Valentine? Maurice smiled again.
Consider another, more effective way of reattaching the hand. Make sure to de-cauterize both the stump and the severed piece in case of operation.

Just a moment, Simulacrus. I suppose you have a light concussion... maybe something worse, but unlikely. I'll see what I can do with that in a minute; hopefully, the other patient's folly yet can be reversed.
