((Poor bishop.))
Bishop promptly shoved the damn corpse off him after a moment and rolled away from the door, gasping.
"S... Shi... Shit... Holy fuck... It's been ages since something... like that... happened to me... Oohhhh fuck, I hate this place already."
He sat there, hands on knees, breathing heavily for awhile, before waving the others in.
"Just.. Give me a moment... I need to get myself together. Go on in."
You spend a little while regaining your composure while simultaneously motioning for the rest of the squad to move into the room. They sit there and stare at you blankly. Great.
Attempt breaching and entering, with a position ready for incoming traps. If not attacked back, examine room from my position.
Feyri watched behind her as the others came, except for Jim. She nodded and radio'd the rest.
"Alright, the Military Observer's Quarters. This place may have inherent defenses set up, judging by the name. Everyone on my mark? Ready?"
((Come to think of it, how do we transmit to Steve? Radio waves?))
(Well, your radios transmit to the transmitter you activated which then transmits to steve)
You attempt to breech the room by slamming your shoulder into the door. [strength:5] [end:5] The door holds tough despite a nice new dent in the metal. You guess that it must be locked.
(( I get the best rolls possible and I can't do it?!
I should've powerslided into the door...
. . . *reads rest of post*
Oh. Now I know why. O_o))
Feyri stood back aghast as the door didn't budge, despite her best efforts in breaching and entering, in every possible way involving her upper arm.
Then, the others past her as Jim broke through. The resulting event was unbelievable. Jim was shouting at nothing, or was there something he saw that we didn't...cam-eyes?
She still stood there, mouth agape as they relayed their messages. And Bishop.
'Corpses?...'
"Hey, I've an idea everyone! If we see corpses, try saying your name. If anyone hears their name being called, and as we know our locations via transmissions, then we can easily tell which ones are real and not an enemy."
She was confused by the amount of expletives Jim knew, in noun, adjective, verb and adverb form. Quite impressing.
Then, she examines her current vicinity while keeping an eye out for suitable information.
'You know, intuition, you've been pretty quiet,' she mused to herself. 'Something is wrong, judging by the swearing and such.'
Guard doorway, keep watch for other enemies.
She turned to Jim, deciding to approach his shift in emotion. "Jim, is there something you can see that we can't? You've been swearing at fluff the whole time we've been down here.
Can you...switch views from those eyes of yours and relay what you can see? Heat signatures, infrared...you know?"
You look around for any sort of pertinent information. After a few seconds you discover a few things.
1.Bishop has a lovely Soprano voice when terrified.
2. Attempting to breech a large metal door with your shoulder probably won't work unless you're super humanly strong.
3.Jim is a bit unstable.
4. Someone has been positioning corpses for the sake of practical jokes, namely falling on people when they open doors.
With this information in mind you take up a guard position next to the door into the military overseer's office and wait for someone else to go in.
(Sorry, Tiruin. I'm far on the other side of the floor in a barricaded room. ^^^; )
"Good. Fucking finally." Jim played the audio cure and idly browsed through the porn while he listened. Anything to take his mind off the zombies walking about. He cast a nervous glance toward the melted pile before returning his attention to the datapad.
You select the "audio-cure" file and let it load while idly browsing the porn on the guy's hard drive. Hey, this one kind looks like Fey-...wait a second. You close the porn and listen carefully to the audio file that is now playing. Static, seemingly random yet oddly musical tones...this is the file from the Transmitter.
And then everything goes black.
(You are unconscious)
((I just realized the GM actually gave 2 tokens for Jim's looted Razor. Maybe because it was not used?))
Yeah, thats...totally it. It's not the tokens from something else/me fucking up. All totally planned.
"Hey Jim. One last thing, you sound nervous. Why is that? What did you find there? Did you send it to Steve?"
She didn't keep her eyes off the possible entry points whatsoever. Only moving to look around her occasionally.
((Requesting position and map update, if possible.))
Yellow is jim, red is everyone else.
Charro grimaced, looking back in the general direction Jim went in, then back to the newly-opened door.
"So, great, either he's crazy or we are. At least, there are four of us, so I suppose that makes it... Slightly less likely? Jim is the one who browsed all those infected files, too. I think... I think we're pretty safe. From hallucinations, at least..."
>Ready laser rifle and inspect corpse for uniform, possible rank and cause of death, being sure to only touch it with a boot if possible.
>Then peer through the newly-opened doorway.
You kick the corpse over and look at it. Its uniform is gray but it has no rank designations that you can see. As per how it died, It looks like the rest of them, no obvious wounds.
You look into the room beyond the corpse. It's a relatively large room for a military man, with a desk and bed. Everything inside is in complete disarray, papers and belongings thrown randomly around the room.
"Tell him 'this information may or may not have a virus'. Aren't these things encrypted and then sent with a to-be-opened packet? Steve can handle this. He replied.
Come to think of it, Steve. What was the population of this base pre-us-arrival?"
Ask Steve
((And if my action is wrong in positional terms, I want to go with the team and guard their vicinity as I'm lost by where we are in position to which room we're in.))
You send out your question about base population and wait for a response.
>Mesk
>Shutting him down now.
