The effect of cutting appears to be that 1. A piece has been cut off and 2.that the cutting with high intensity chemical lasers causes burning of organic tissue. Astounding.

The fleshy thing is indeed still moving.

You enter the clearing and the world changes to that of a plowed field under a massive red sun at high noon. Budding alien plants are just starting to push their way up from the mounts between the furrows.

Let's check this shit out. Jim crouched by one of the plants and touched it, wondering if his fingers actually had any sort of sensory input that would tell him the texture of the plant.

The REAL Milno proceeds to nonchalantly get whatever was inside the clearing where Faith tried to rape, murder and eat children. He also uses one of his monoatomic razors to get a nice piece of the fungus thing. Then he goes to where Jim is and stands behind him to wait for the results of his acid trip.

Head back to the shuttle with my alien gizmo and fungus sample, wait for my teammates.

You attempt to cut a bit of the creature off using your laser, and indeed carve a bit of it off, burning most of it in the process.

You fly into the clearing and grab one of the rocks from the pile. Yep. It's a rock. A smooth, oval shaped black rock about 4 inches long, to be exact, but still, a rock.

You bend down and touch one of the plants, rubbing one of the broad leaves between your fingers. It feels vaguely rubbery and smooth. The plant itself is some sort of vine thing with large, dark purple leaves.

Head back to the shuttle with my alien gizmo and fungus sample, wait for my teammates.

You head to the ship and wait for your teammates (to stop fucking around).

Jim decides to see if messing with the plants will take him out of the illusion, and if so, if the bit of plant will come with him. He rips it out.

Milno flies out of the clearing, leaving the rock, and proceeds to get a piece of the living fungus growth with his razor before moving behind Jim and waiting for the results of his trip.
