My murderous intent boner has been sabotaged. My turgid homicidal desires shall remain unfulfilled...for now.

But no, it's fair enough to wait. I usually don't make people wait if it's just for stuff like looking around or walking or generally anything that won't result in idle people dying, but I have no problem waiting, just means the turns going a little slower.

You guys are doing pretty good in this little tutorial mission thing. I half expected someone to try and reason with the Metal Sentinel and end up atomized in order to teach the group the importance of shooting first and asking questions later. See, tiruin did try to communicate with it, but he did it while powerslide lasering it. Which is really how all negotiations should take place.

Oh but I have. Demon's souls too. They, among with a dozen other things are an inspiration here. I'm going for what amounts to a Roguelike RTD, in that little about anything you find or encounter will be explained straight away, your life expectancies will be low and the world will not be balanced to you, you'll have to rise to the challenges of the world. I want to make you feel very frail and very mortal, so that when you manage to prevail against all odds, it really means something. It's pretty tame here, with the automated defenses and simple naked force, but later, the next mission in fact, things are gonna start getting interesting.

((Strangely, I am not surprised. But I still miss the knight armors' from both games. Especially the Elite Knight from Dark Souls, which is epic.))

((You have been achieving this quite well, because I have been remembering some of my gaming moments - namely the fact I have always been a careful player, and those were probably the only times when acting human as a videogame character paid off. And I was going to create a RTD which draws heavily on both games, just trying to pick a setting.
I'm just glad the standby people are going to be the ones sent into the next mission.))

((Also, the pods being destroyed before even hitting the ground were nice. I've always pondered how sad it is when soldiers (especially highly-trained troops, like Marines or Adeptus Astartes) are killed without even having the chance of fighting due to transport/drop pod destruction.

Actually, people on active usually keep going as long as they can. Though you can switch spots with someone on standby if you want a break. You'll both have to agree on it though. Jim is probably gonna be out for the next mission, unless he rolls really well when it comes to the whole revival and prosthesis process.

I can pretty much guarantee you such drops will happen again, and chances are you'll be hit during one of them. I don't script  'em, it's just chance on who gets it. Being shot down isn't instant death, but you'll certainly be in a bad situation. Heh, but thats a bridge we'll cross when we come screaming to it.

(That would be nice, but I might opt to just allow it to take a whole mission to regen to let someone else have a shot. ^^^ Hopefully I could get back in the mission after that, though...)

Assuming they don't completely screw up reviving you, yeah, one mission is all you'll miss.

When it comes to revival, it's still a dice roll, but only a 1 kills you for good. The others just have various penalties or lack of penalties.

Oh, and you'll still get the stat points to put into your character for "completing" the mission. That way even people can still grow and become more powerful, even if they die a lot. Still, try not to die everyone, there's always the chance you might not come back. Plus if the whole team dies on mission, you're basically all boned.

"Aliens! Oh bother. Why is everything here out to kill us! Even gravity hates me! That's it. I'm going all out on this." Feyri said, both over the inter-com and vocally. This was utterly confusing, and the only things she remembered that was as confusing as this was the games of puzzles she had back home.

Y'know, before she was apprehended for jaywalking on a road without any traffic...

WILL the platform to stop ascending! Examine surroundings.

Edit: Stop being ninja's! 5 replies?!

Edit II: Maybe waiting for everyone's action would be wise. Leaving a party member idling at a point while the others are doing something is wrong in my eyes.
You close your eyes and will the platform to stop with all your mental fortitude. And when that fails you take a look around to see if anything has changed. Nope still the same hexagonal metal platform and floating cube rising ever higher toward the ceiling.

"Derp, I smartes!"

Jump up and down, see if the platform moves at all.
You jump up and down like an excitable primate, grunting as you pound your boots into the platform. It doesn't seem to have any effect on anything.

((I could accept going with them if all of us could use our intelligence rolls. But as we can not (missing IronyOwl/Faith's post), I prefer to stay on the ground and watch the crazy ride.))

Stay put and watch them, but try to figure how that thing works from a distance. I want to try and help them.
>>Then consider both yourselves and Faith firmly on the ground. I shall edit the post accordingly. Sorry about that.

[Intelligence roll:6]

"Oi!" You shout up at Ivan who appears to be hopping up and down on the platform, "Whats the matter?

"Oh nothing, just going to be crushed on the ceiling."

"Remember that door to the outside? It appeared out of nowhere, maybe this is the same."

"I guess that makes sense."

"Or maybe it will teleport you somewhere."

"Maybe, but that doesn't seem..."

"Perhaps you'll commune with the universal overmind within his crystal palace at the center of the sun!"

"Uh..."

"There are so many wonderful things that could happen! Or it could just crush you. What a fascinating experiment!"

Sorry about the delay. I totally would have been fine riding the crushy doom platform. :P

You walk into the room in the south west. It's empty except for another inscription.
