Inspect elevator. Try to work out how to operate the thing, search for a control panel if needed. Don't actually activate anything yet.

'Ok guys, stand back, I'll try to get this thing going. Wouldn't want to get anyone hurt while doing so. Secure the perimeter and watch my back while I work on it.

Bishop, you can scout ahead, if you don't mind going alone in there. Remember, none of us have rocket packs, so if anything goes wrong, you're on your own until we can get to you.'

You step into to the elevator, not much more then a large platform between 4 beams that it uses to travel up and down on,  and look around. In one corner there is a raised pedestal with a control panel on it. You walk over, blow off the dust and look at the panel. It has 8 buttons, all in a vertical line, set inside a simple, line drawn image of the tower, with one button per large multifloor section. There are labels next to the buttons but they're not in a language you recognize.

"Of course." you mutter, resting your hands on the panel, "That would be too easy."

"Alright then. Don't go anywhere without telling me."

Activate motion scanners and take off up the shaft partway. See if there's anything interesting up there.
You zip up the shaft toward the light. The light is coming from a rather bright ring of LED lights arranged around what looks to be a large doorway with a pair of sliding metal doors. The doors are shut, of course. Perhaps if you had some sort of sexy elevator he might be able to woo this wall and get it to give you access to it's openings.

Roger uses his razor to mark the wall of the hallway they came from, then looks down another one.
You mark the wall and then look down one of the other halls. It looks pretty much exactly like the other hall. Huh.

Stay with bishop
You try to grab hold of Bishop's legs but he jets up and away before you can get a good grip. Aw...

And now the separation anxiety starts.

'Surprisingly cooperative user interface. How thoughtfull.'

Once everybody is on the elevator, go up 1 floor.

"OK, it's clear up here. Bring it up and maybe these big doors will open?"

Wait for the elevator. Make sure to get out of the way when it starts moving.

(Uh, Zako. Get out of the elevator shaft. You might not get squashed by the elevator coming up, but you really shouldn't risk it either way.)

Everyone piles onto the elevator and Miyamoto hits the button for the first floor. The elevator climbs upward with a near silent electrical hum, rising quickly enough to make everyone on it stoop low under the force of the acceleration.  The elevator rises till it reaches the first floor and stops suddenly, hurling everyone half a foot into the air. As the platform stops the doors of the first floor, or more correctly the first section, slide open with a hiss and a noticeable current of air blows out. Positive pressure. Beyond the door is a low lit room, the only lighting coming from the dull blue status lights of seemingly endless rows of sleek black and silver computers, or what appear to be computers. They line the room, which stretches several stories high, stacks if them suspended in metal scaffolding or secured to the wall. Thin catwalks and ramps provide access to the higher levels and every free surface seems to be covered in tightly bound cables or wires. Brighter points of light scattered around the room mark consoles and access points.

Bishop floats around just above the group, blowing rocket exhaust down on their heads.

Bishop shut off the rockets and dropped down among the group with a thump.

"Let's take a look, shall we? Maybe we can find something interesting to take with us?"

Explore inside the new room. Don't touch anything and keep an eye out for anything that stands out.

"Control room of sorts. maybe a backup. Or it could be a data storage place."
Investigate one of the computer things.

"Let's check out one of those terminals, might be some information there."  Roger walks over to the nearest terminal and inspects it.

Check out a console/access point. Try to find out how it works, see what its interface is like, the works. Don't use/touch it yet.

Explore inside the new room. Don't touch anything and keep an eye out for anything that stands out.
You wander into the room and look around.  You notice that it's much colder in here then in the elevator, almost 100 degrees lower according to the suit's sensors. As the rest of the team huddles around a monitor you decide to follow one of the large cables littering the room. You follow it up through several levels of computers until it disappears into a port in the ceiling.

The rest of the group, minus Leon who seems to be catatonic, gather around one of the monitors. It's on but seems to be in some sort of idle mode. Beneath the monitor is a keyboard of sorts, though it seems to have more keys then any of the group are used to, and with symbols that are unknown to them. Amongst the symbols are a few letters of the english alphabet, as well as symbols that appear to have some sort of relation to other letters, but a good number of them are foreign to all involved.
