"HOLY SHIT IT'S A PUFBLOOM!"

Appear out of nowhere and fix Simus.

((Oh god.

Oh god no.

Please, god no!))
((Well... She's at least better than Faith.))
((I don't think anyone actually agrees with that.))

Charro stopped, ignoring Chin for now as he listened over the comms.
"Good luck," he said, hopefully quickly enough that Maurice would hear it before leaving radio distance. He then turned to the others, glancing down at the sand in front of them. "So, what now, then? Personally I'd rather wait 'til Simus is safe and sound before putting anyone else at risk."

>Stand around. Gauge how fast the sand's going.

Perform medical as well as auxiliary systems check of Simus's both biological and robotic body.
Ah!! Here you are. ...I am really glad to see you alive. Now, let me examine your wounds and the damage dealt.

You bend down and look over Simus' injuries, both mechanical and fleshy.

[Med:4+1]
[aux:6+1]

"Well, your robo legs are pretty much fucked. Straight fucked. Totally fucked. Like...yeah, fucked."

You shrug and start looking at the rest of her, pulling off her helmet and opening her suit for a few seconds at a time. Concussion is worse, if she had any legs left she'd have a hard time walking. Shes got a nasty couple of cuts on her head where it banged around in the suit, but those are clotting on their own. You're fairly certain she has no internal bleeding, a few broken ribs judging by the bruising, but no punctured organs. She's in remarkably good shape all things considered, but she's still completely crippled.

"HOLY SHIT IT'S A PUFBLOOM!"

Appear out of nowhere and fix Simus.

This would involve climbing down a rope and wandering of into the darkness toward an only vaguely defined location, on your own. It would also take a least two turns to get there. Sure you wanna do that?

Also, attempting to medicate her against her will may result in combat checks. Not that she's really capable of much right now.

Charro stopped, ignoring Chin for now as he listened over the comms.

((Edit: ARGH TYPO DAMNIT ARGRGHHLEBARGL))

Looks like it's flowing pretty fast right now. The door is half uncovered at this point and...wait a sec. A lump of clothing and leathery flesh bobs into your bubble of light, heading for the door on the tide of sand.

The best was probably Pyro's first character on the damn when, with a -1 med, he perfectly patched up two people. Of course his subsequent perma-death murder of another two might render that moot...but it's the thought that counts.

You open your mouth to suggest something about the corpse when it suddenly bobs into view. Oh. Well.

"...well, are we going to go collect it or just follow it when the sand runs dry?"

EDIT:

Examine the walls near where I'm sure there should have been sand until recently. Are there any side rooms, and if so, what do they look like?

There are rooms that look like they've been uncovered by the outflow of the sand, but they seem to be identical to those you saw earlier, farther up the structure.

Grab some sand from the pit, dump it in the back of one of the alcoves. Drag Charro along to record it.

Well, let's just say your feline trainer should be proud of you. Maurice smiled reassuringly.
Thankfully, your life is not in danger now, but, unfortunately, you are from now on prohibited from actively moving around and, frankly, should be hospitalised as soon as possible. It is probably impossible and meaningless to make the third trip back to the shuttle now, though. Well, we'll see when we make it back to the team; the exploration of this place may take longer than I've anticipated.
Detach the mangled prosthetic legs; make sure not to injure my patient in the process.
Carefully pick Simus up from the ground and walk back to the Citadel.

Attempt to assist getting the mangled legs off and try not to be too bad a deadweight on the way back.

Good thing I had prosthetics to take the brunt of the damage, were my legs real, it probably would've been much worse. Also good that I was planning on getting the civilian models replaced anyways.

Get the easily pickable corpse.

Grab some sand from the pit, dump it in the back of one of the alcoves. Drag Charro along to record it.

You grab a jar full of sand and carry it into one of the rooms, dumping it in one of the on the wall. The sand on the wall flows out, across the ground and out the door, presumably down the ramp and into the rest of the sand. The alcoves on the floor already look to to be mostly full, all of it bunched up against one side of alcove.

Well, let's just say your feline trainer should be proud of you. Maurice smiled reassuringly.

Carefully pick Simus up from the ground and walk back to the Citadel.

[aux:6+1]
You pull out your knife and proceed to start chopping. And you continue chopping and prying and bashing and ripping and yanking until there's nothing left but two shrapnel stumps.

[str:2]
Even with her heavy legs gone, you can't quite get Simus up. You really need to do some push ups at some point.

Get the easily pickable corpse.
[dex:3+1]
You race down the ramp and out onto the sand as the body drifts towards the door.
[dex:6+1]
You slide across the flowing sand and get hold of the body but are dragged out, through the doorway and into the darkness in the process.
