((That makes no sense. The shuttle is landed. I tie something under it. Why would it be crushed if the shuttle has already landed?))
((Landing back. We've never seen how exactly the shuttle enters the Sword. How tight the space is. And I assume that at the very least it would be sprayed and scraped with anti-xeno agents.))

steve i have tied a sample container to the bottom of the shuttle, if you wish to obtain a sample of the mimic goo fly us over the trench and scoop up a sample then punch the accelerator and get us out of range before it can form itself.
((Wouldn't it form under the shuttle, in the capsule?))

Head over to the LZ and wait nearby.
((It didnt form inside the sample container last time, and im tying it to the shuttle via the longest cable i can find, by the time the mimic forms we will hopefully be in space))

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

((I thought you were talking about the drone.

But again, that makes no sense. The sample will be towed. Special care will be taken to bring it on board. You can't stop to dock while towing something or it will crash on you. And you don't want that with dangerous samples. Better to stop somewhere near the sword and have a special team retrieve it. If it doesn't break free first.))

((Actually, I was and still am talking about the drone. Actually, I'm talking about any object attached to the shuttle. The container is a whole different can of worms, but even then, you need to actually outline the plans to have the special team retrieve it and get it on board. In HMRC, if you don't specifically say it, it probably won't happen.))

((I think you were replying to the wrong person, but anyway, the problem with Unholy's plan was that we don't actually know if it will form or not, and neither do we know why it forms. One could assume that the reason Paris could get the goo out and I could not was because the goo had not matured yet at the moment, and had nothing to do with how it was picked up. (I don't think there was a difference in the method). Also, the idea of it taking the material of the object that touches it is still just a theory without much evidence.

But how and why is besides the point. The point is if the thing forms into something, I do not want to be on the shuttle it forms under.))

But seriously, the second I read 'break free' I got this image of the crystal reaching the Sword, going full deathcrystal again causing mass destruction and mayhem, while this plays in the background.

Also, any excuse to watch that insane clip again is good enough for me.))

((When a shuttle lands, it lands on its directional rockets and "legs" and when it is docked it hangs from the ceiling, if I'm not mistaken. The drone is small. We aren't killed after every mission and we retain our equipment. Unless the UWM doesn't want us to see the planet, the shuttle passes dangerously close to the doors or the planet emits some kind of radiation that disables electronics, the drone should be fine.))

((Heh! Good one.

And that is why doing this is a bad idea on many counts. I don't think we can get that sample without some help from Steve. Or some people volunteering their manipulators.))

((Source for how it lands? Actually, don't bother. It's still not enough information to know if anything on the outside of the shuttle is affected in any way during the entire process.

As us not getting killed, it may have something to do with us being inside the shuttle. Also, I'm not sure we will be able to touch or collect anything from the shuttle before we are escorted and podded. So, to put it short, I will not be surprised if putting a drone outside the shuttle works, but neither will I be surprised if it is broken or inaccessible.))

>How should I put this. There's a shuttle coming. You have 2 and a half minutes to get on it. After that it closes it's doors and anyone left behind dies.

This puts a rather sharp end to any ideas of gathering pretty much anything else from what was left of the base or the world itself. The shuttle streaks in less then a minute later and the team hurriedly boards, dragging their bounty of samples in with them. Two and a half minutes later, the shuttle is headed safely back to the Sword, as somewhere behind it the planet which has consumed a year of the team's lives vanishes from existence into the crackling red void.

(Congrats, you're back on the ship now. You're going strait into stasis though, so we'll worry about tokens in a little bit.  Welcome back)

Wait! Did I get my MPV in the shuttle? Did Unholy get his Bike? Did we get the radioactive shard?

And you can't just cut away all our actions from the time the sky changed to when the shuttle closed it's doors. I'm pretty sure there was a sizable period of time in between.

And two and a half minutes is still enough to attack a drone to the shuttle!

Shard, yes.
MPV yes.
Rocket bike, Sure.
Attack a drone to the shuttle? Wat.

If the shuttle arrives this turn, tie one of my drones on its underside and have it both transmit and record.
That. Not attack, attach.

Yeah, sure. I don't know why though. It's not like video of that is worth anything.

I think Paris wants flavor text. I mean, it's not just tokens. We're still trying to figure out stuff like if the Storm is all around us, or just in the South. And how the planetoid actually looks from space.
