I'm not sure that this is such a good idea.

What could go wrong? =(

Well poop, he ran out of bolts. Most of them missed or got deflected (he's only level 3, almost level 4), but he got a few good hits and managed to at least pierce the guys lung. But, he ran out, and now he is chilling in his bedroom. Is there anyway to make him autorefill?

Edit: Oh, oh no, he went and auto refilled. Huh. I guess he did it after I canceled his kill order and then re-assigned him to Station near the fortification. Man, Marksdorfs are weird.

Why not?

If the dorfs are in the firing slot you want them shooting. If the other side has expert ranged units then you don't want them being visible at all, so you should remove them from the firing slot. There is no case where you want your marksdorfs visible but unable to fire.

He should go and get more bolts automatically. Has he depleted all of your bolts in the fort? Perhaps you should train up a weaponsmith with junk metal bolts.

So far not yet! Just a really fucked up Swordsdorf. Man, getting these Marksdorfs to fire is really hard. I keep targetting the other dorf, but he just kinda stands there like an idiot. Trying to station him right up to the fortification just has him standing 3-4 tiles away. Marksdorfs are a pain.

Title is "Will merchants go insane?" but the real question is "How do I give my Killcano an army fitting of it's name?"

You can make a burrow and setup a schedule for him to guard it.  He'll stand directly against the wall that way.

Got pissed at the Merchants for not trading with me because I kept refusing thier horrible deals, so I did this: http://i.imgur.com/ymndU.jpg
Holy awesome entrance, Batman! I'm green with envy here.
Tried to build my own evil volcano lair, but then a cloud of cursed soot drifted over and... well, let's just say it was probably the most ‼Fun‼ half an hour ever after that.

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.

Your hunters probably have all the bolts assigned to them.

Fuck awesome entrance. Puts the cave in the badlands I embarked on, and subsequently cleared of ant people (fuck those guys), to shame. (protip, caves are pretty much pre built forts, STEAL THEM)

Imagine the will it took to create a fortress like this. And what have you elves built? Nothing. You can only loot and break. You're not dwarves!! You're just termites at Versailles.

It's not that I don't suffer, it's that I know the unimportance of suffering, I know that pain is to be fought and thrown aside, not to be accepted as part of one's soul and as a permanent scar across one's view of existence.

This embark is perfect but I can't find any friggin iron ore. Been digging around all over just under the soil but I can't find any at all. It's starting to worry me a little, and the last time I tried DFHack so I could reveal -> prospect, it didn't want to work. D:

Also, to keep this somewhat on its original topic, what's the easiest way to upload a save or world information so you can embark here too?

The easiest way is to zip or rar up the save's folder and upload it to DFFD.
