Okay, no update today. I went a little overboard on screenshots and would like to perform some update surgery. Tomarrow definitely though, all I need to do is delete some excess screenies, and fiddle with the update a bit, the mission itself is over.

it ends in such an anticlimactic way oh my god, it's honestly hilarious

Update comin up. Have a link to an awesome thing I just discovered today. Apparently Andrew WK did a lot of music for a gundam album. It's all pretty damn nice. Mostly classic gundams, so no way to use it in a relevant way in the LP, so random link time. Apologies for this taking two days longer then it had to!

Calvina:Cdr. Flaga, why are you joining us? You afraid to leave this in our hands?
Mu:Of course not. Don't take this the wrong way, 2nd Lieutenant. I'm mostly tagging along to make sure this new unit's tuned up and ready to go.
Calvina:I'm not sure I told you I'm not a 2nd Lieutenant anymore, Commander.
Mu:Hey, no reason to get upset! If you really hate me calling you that, I'll stop. How about I call you Calvina, instead?
Calvina:Tch!
Mu:Something wrong?
Calvina:...Don't even joke about that!
Mu:You don't have to get so mad Calvina...
Calvina:There's only one person who's allowed to call me that.
Mu:Heh! Your prince charming, huh? Where is he now?
Calvina:He's gone... And he's never coming back.
Mu:...Sorry I asked. All right... Looks like the explosion came from over there!
Koji:Yeah. Don't hold me to this, but it looks like they're still fighting.
Ryoko:All right, let's go!

A few Battas and some strange units teleport into the area.

He destroys the three battas, and six more replace them.

Ja-Mu:You have no chance of victory, yet you still come at me?! This is why I hate unmanned units...

Another unit appears in a cloud of green particles.

Did you forget that?

Ja-Mu:My apologies, Lord Al-Van. They attacked me.
Al-Van:We don't have time for your reckless stunts. Just finish them off, already.
Ja-Mu:Yes, milord! Forgive me!
Al-Van:We'll use the Larseilam. After you destroy them, we're pulling out.
Ja-Mu:Understood.
Al-Van:Six units remaining. Cytron accumulated. Orgone Extractor output rising. Engaging Larseilam.

A brief flash of green light emits from Al-Van's unit

Ja-Mu:Frozen solid... Isn't that right, you stupid, unmanned trash?!
Al-Van: ...Stasis confirmed. Ja-Mu, deal with them.
Ja-Mu:Yes, milord! ...This is it for you!

They approach on three of the six battas, and destroy them. Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the map, Bellzelute and the gang have approached the combat site.

Koji:Over there! It looks like they're fighting some Gradosian unmanned weapons.
Mu:Yeah, but those guys aren't from the Federation... Don't think they're from ZAFT, either.
Akito:Who the hell are they, then?
Observant viewers may remember! They're the original units that were chasing the Bellzelute when we got it. The fact that they have a stasis device on hand that is apparently fairly trivial to use doesn't sound good for us.

Mu:Can't say.
Ryoko:Those Battas aren't moving... It's almost like those unknowns froze them in place.

They destroy the remaining three battas.

Al-Van:Hmm...? We've been discovered. I cannot allow them to escape. Deal with them, Ja-Mu.
Ja-Mu:Lord Al-Van, isn't that...
And they remember us.

Al-Van:Well, well, well... The escaped unit. It's still in one piece, I see! It appears the "experiments" are here, too... Strange. I'm almost positive that unit was incapable of engaging in actual combat.
Ja-Mu:F-Forgive me, milord. Because of the mess I caused, they-
Al-Van:It's of little concern. We'll be able to capture it for certain, now. There's no need to risk our lives over it this time. We'll use the Larseilam and then go for the capture. Dispose of the others first.
Yeah, there's not a cooldown on that thing. Well hmm. Seems like we won't be in Africa for very long.

Katia:W-What's that...?
Calvina:What's the matter, Katia?
Katia:Please, we have to run! Even if we're the only ones who get away, we have to...
Calvina: What's wrong? Tell me!
Mu:They're the enemy, right?
Ryoko:You know them, then?
Calvina: Tch?! That unit... No way, it can't be...!
Al-Van:Preperations complete. Forgive me. It was merely your misfortune to be in this place at this time. The lease I can do for you is end this, free of fear or pain.

The Larseilem is activated again.

Calvina:What was that...?
But wait!

Ja-Mu:All right, Lord Al-Van. I'll dispose of them!
Calvina:They're up to something, aren't they? You told me to run away, but retreating now is only going to make this worse. Listen up, everyone! We're going to size up their capabilities first!
Koji:......
Koji usually doesn't elipses at us...

Akito:......
Or Akito...

Ryoko:......
Mu:......
Or either of them. Hmmmmm. Maybe it wasn't entirely ineffective.

Calvina:W-What's going on?! Why isn't anyone moving?! Koji, Akito, Ryoko! Cdr. Flaga, please respond! ...What in the world is this?! Why aren't they moving?!
Katia:It's moving on its' own? I see, so that's what Bellzelute was built for. They have the power to simply turn us off, which is why he helped us escape...
Calvina:Katia, what's happening?!
Katia:Please leave this to me. I understand now... The unknowns froze Koji and the others, but Bellzelute can unfreeze them! Now I know... We have to hurry, or they'll kill us all!
And the Bellzelute's grand secret is revealed! Also the reason it was actually, ya know, being pursued. I mean really, so what if a generic robot landed on the earth, we already have thousands of them in this timeline.

Calvina:The Cytron told you that, I take it? Fine, I'll leave it to you. Just tell me what I have to do.
Katia:Concentrate on the foremost enemy unit. Ugh... This should do it!

A red wave of energy bursts from Bellzelute, causing Al-Vans' mech to spark slightly.

Al-Van:Hm? What was that?

Ja-Mu and his squadron move forward to engage.

Al-Van:...Wait, Ja-Mu. I cannot confirm stasis. What is the meaning of this?!

Katia:Ugh...
Calvina:Katia, are you all right?
Katia:Thanks. I'm fine. The others will be able to move soon, too. But... can we win against these numbers?
Koji:They're here already? They really want a piece of us, don't they?!
Ryoko:What are we going to do, Commander?
Mu:Well, if we don't take at least some of them down, then we can't escape!
Ja-Mu:They're moving?! Impossible! Lord Al-Van, what is the meaning of this?!
Al-Van:I knew it. It appears they are resistant to the Larseilam's effects. This is an old unit, so it must be running at less then peak performance. I'll look into it when we return.
Needless to say, they're kinda freaked out that their win button has suddenly "malfunctioned".

Ja-Mu:What about them?
Al-Van:Do it. They can't defeat us with those units alone. Strike them down, but don't be careless! Your unit is important... And irreplaceable.
Ja-Mu:Yes, milord!
Squire:Understood, milord.
Akito:It's too fast!

It strikes Akito. No animation, as is the case with most of these cutscenes.

Akito:Whoa! What the hell are they?!
Ryoko:Tenkawa?! Damn! Kabuto, watch your ass!

Another approaches Mazinger.
Koji:Leave it to me!

Koji attacks...

Koji:Missed?! You sonuva-!

...misses, and is struck in return.

Koji:Damn! Be careful, Calvina! They're crazy strong!
It would appear that despite having and using a stasis device, these mysterious folks are hardly pushovers, however.

Calvina:Guh... We can move, but we're still helpless against them!
Ja-Mu:You were allowed to run away last time, but now you have to face me, you faulty prototype! Come! This will be all too pleasurable, I'm sure!

Ja-Mu attacks Bellzelute.

Calvina:Ugh! They scored a direct hit on me?! At this rate...!
Mu:This isn't good... How about this?!

Mu rushes the commander and manages to hit him, but the attack is intercepted by a sickly green field. These things have barriers too! To say we're outgunned is an understatement.

Mu:Damn, I didn't even scratch it!
Al-Van:It will take more than that to overcome my Orgone Cloud! Forgive me. Your death is at hand!

Suddenly, a barrage of explosive projectiles strike the ground near Ja-Mu!

Ja-Mu:Tch... There are still more of them?!

A new unit appears!

These guys are the pilots of Dancouga! There's another couple we haven't seen yet. From Dancouga: Super beast machine god, obviously.

Al-Van:Only one unit?
Ja-Mu: Lord Al-Van, please leave them to me. I'll destroy them in but a moment!

He rushes in the direction of Dancouga.

Akito:They came to help?
Mu:Another unknown unit? It's providing cover, so I don't think they're the enemy...

Ja-Mu approaches Dancouga!

Shinobu:A little closer, pal! I've still got one hell of a neat trick up my sleeve...[/i]

And look who else is there! Cagalli, from Gundam SEED. Good to see she's still kickin around. Masato and Ryo are also Dancouga pilots.

Ja-Mu:Heh... You won't run, eh? In that case... I'll take you down in one shot!

The ground around Ja-Mu explodes!

Ja-Mu:What?!
Masato:We did it!
Ja-Mu:A trap?! Aren't you something... Still, this much damage won't be enough to stop me!
Al-Van:Ja-Mu, retreat.
Ja-Mu:But-!
Al-Van:Don't do anything reckless here. We have yet to find the source of the Larselam's malfunction. Ensuring that it is in proper working order is essential.
Ja-Mu:You're going to let that unit go, too?!
Al-Van:Just as you reported, it is stronger than it should be... However, this will not be the last chance to take it back. Withdraw!
Ja-Mu: ...Yes, milord!
Al-Van:(Its' pilot concerns me.. The test subjects alone aren't enough to nullify the Larseilam... Is there a human that can use the Cytron?! ...Impossible!)

They leave the area in the same cloud of green mist that blocked Mu's attack earlier.

Akito:They're gone?!
Ryoko:No way! Was that spatial displacement?!
Mu:What's that? I've never heard of it.
Katia:......
Calvina:They retreated...? Everyone seems to have forgotten what happened earlier... (There's no mistake. They may have been improved and repaired, but there's no question those were the same two units from the project. Still, what was that sensation? What were they, and what were those units? They must have some kind of connection with the project...)

And it would appear Calvina's past is related to these mysterious people as well, or at the very least their robots.

Mu:Wow, those guys ended up being pretty fierce... Hey, thanks for the help! Everything good on your end? What's that unit of yours?
Sara:All right, looks like everything turned out fight! Right, Cagalli?
Cagalli:Yeah, no msitake about it. They're with the Nadesico and Archangel. We have to confirm their ships' location.

Time passes, and they discuss their situations.

Koji:You're the resistance, I take it?
Cagalli:That's the name we use when we're fighting against ZAFT, yeah.
Mu:So what do you have to say about this robot, here? I can't believe this thing!
Ryo:Why do I feel like I've seen you before...?
Mu:Well, I'm pretty sure I have no acquaintances in this part of the world, but hey. ...I'm Lt. Mu La Flaga of the UEFA.
Ryo:I see... The "Hawk of Endymion."
Ryoko:*chuckle* A real celebrity, huh?
Mu:I wonder about that... Sorry for the suspicion, but you guys are incredibly well-equipped for a rag-tag resistance!
Shinobu:Yeah, what can I say? We're special. This unit and the four of us are the Cyber-Beast Force. You can call us the "CBF" for short. We don't represent the resistance all by ourselves, though.
Sara:Yup. We were sent here to back up the resistance efforts, as a matter of fact.
Mu:The "Cyber-Beast Force" huh? Who sent you? You're not with the Federation, that's for sure!
Shinobu:We were sent by... "Mithril."
Calvina:Heh... Never would've imaged that they really exist.
Akito:What do you mean?
Calvina:They're an independent, heavily armed organization that doesn't belong to any country... Or so the rumors went while I was in the army. They claim to be some kind of... allies of justice. Not that anyone would believe that.
Ryo:Yeah, that kind of sums them up.

The Nadesico arrives on the scene.

Akito:The Nadesico?
Yurika:Hey, everybody! What are you up to over there? The Radam are coming down soon! We have to escape!
Yes, we've litterally become the victim of an attack because they TALKED TOO MUCH. Another one of the things SRW likes to do is poke fun at giant robot tropes, and this is a (perhaps unintentional) example of such a thing.

Shinobu:Wait! "Radam"? What the heck're those?!
Ryoko:The invaders. The space lifeforms that turn into those wierd trees... ...You know! The aliens!
Masato:We know about the tree thing, bu this "Radam" part's new to us.

The Radam appear near the purple forests at the north end of the map.

Shinobu:Grr... Just looking at those aliens pisses me off! Let's do this!
Sara:Cagalli, you have to get out of here!
Cagalli:...Understood.

Kira leaves the Nadesico in the Strike gundam.

Kira:Cdr. Flaga, are you all right?
Mu:Heh! You came, too? I was a little concerned about you, kid, but...
Kira:I trust you... And I have to do what I can. Even thought I dislike it, I will fight if necessary.
D-Boy:Do your worst, Radam! TEK SETTER!

Blade:Tekkaman Blade!
Noal:He's been in high spirits since the Radam showed up. Do your best, D-Boy!
Blade:No need to tell me. I WILL defeat the Radam
I just love how he talks similarly to an 80's superhero.

And there's the thing. We've officially hit our unit limit. We have 7 slots left, and 9 units. NOW, the way I'm gonna do this, is I'm gonna shuffle them around so ideally everyone gets a decent amount of screentime. Now, you do want some regulars around to fall back on if things get hairy. Bellzelute will be one of them, because main charecter, Boss Borot will be one of them, because we're gonna use him, and try to turn him into a killing machine, and the new unit that has yet to appear will be one of them because it's my favorite thing ever, and he shows up in plot segments a ton, so we want him a decent level anyway. That will leave about two, maybe three more units to field regularly, we'll leave the rest of the slots for me to shuffle. We're gonna wait for a little bit before we open up voting on those two (there'll be a poll), because not even like, 2/3rds of the units have been introduced yet. When we have all of them introduced, we'll run the poll. We've still got the issue that you won't see the unit upgrades later on in the game that pretty much every main liner robot gets, but by the time they're over with, we only have like 15 missions left anyway so we'll just have to deal.

For this mission we are bringing (besides the predeployed guys IE, everyone in the cutscene)... Aphrodite A, the three remaining aestivalises, Layzner, Bayull, and Combattler (mostly to show combo, more because this stage can actually be threatening later on, and combattler has been a grade A unit so far. We'll explain that later).

SO.

TURN ONE!

Radam are up there at the top, and we're kinda seperated. Also of note is that anyone that took a hit in the cutscene is damaged when the stage starts. It's the little touches. I'll be keeping the groups as they are for now, as Aestivalises have plenty of no energy requirement weapons. We land and move everyone north. The dunes you can see here

Provide a minor defense and dodge bonus. Good stuff. Now that we're on the earth the terrain effects are gonna get a little more interesting. Deserts for instance, are slow to move through, as sand does not support giant hundred ton robots very well, but have dunes that give defensive bonuses, as I just said.

ENEMY PHASE

All of the radam move south as well, except the fliers. I'm not sure why, they're not terribly different statistically from the four legged ones.

TURN TWO!

Anyway, we move the nadesico and Izumi up a bit, as they were lagging behind, and then keep everyone still. THis is mostly to get aligned. We'll be moving again next turn, although there's an important reason we DON'T WANT TO BE IN THE BOTTOM CENTER OF THE MAP later.

Calvina draws first blood with that rediculous range of hers.

ENEMY PHASE

More moving south by the radam, the fliers are on the move now too.

TURN THREE!

We're fairly well set up so we move together towards the middle of the map. Again, not the LOWER MIDDLE, above that.

Calvina keeps showing off. No kills yet by the way, but we've damaged two. Not that it helps with the Radam's regeneration, now that I think about it, oh well.

ENEMY PHASE

More radam move towards the center, as we've managed to gather up there. We get two kills, and one damaged radam and all of the radam attacks are dodged or of negligible damage.

TURN FOUR!

Alrighty, we're on to actual combat now. Let's take a look at Dancouga.

Wow, two pages of attacks. Of note is most of these require will, so dancouga is very dependant on that. The first few attacks are kinda iffy, but once it hits 120 will or so it'll start kicking teeth in. Inparticular Dancouga does TONS of damage, but is even more fragile then combattler, and takes longer to get worked up. Combattler is still probably our front line bruiser, but Dancouga's long range attacks are an asset that can't be ignored either. Just be careful if it's near a ton of enemy units, as it may not make it out alive.

Not bad for a 2700 attack. Let's finish it off and check out our other new guy, Skygrasper.

Yep. Not a lot of firepower, it can't repair or resupply like I thought earlier either. Probably one of the worst units in the game, if it weren't for it's frame delivery thing. Still not amazing even with that.

Still nasty enough to finish off a crippled Radam. Support craft fits it pretty nicely I think, it's there to finish off stuff, not break them in half outta the gate. And then with all our new units outta the way, we go on a rampage on the Radam.

New attack, throw lancer. Tekkaman blade's weakest attack, but has slightly more range then most of his low will attacks. I use it to finish off a radam that was otherwise just out of his range.

Neat. Laser hookshot. Back to short screenshot carnage.

Of note is that the gravity blast will universally one shot lesser radam even at this early point in the game. It's nice.

Akito gets a level outta that, and a level of support attack. He's shaping up! Also, new attack, Ground frame's Wired Fist. Notable because it's one of the few melee attacks on a non flying (as in cannot fly period, not currently on the ground) unit that can hit a flying unit. I managed to forget to get a screenshot set of it. It'll show in a sec. Aphrodite A takes this time to repair Ryoko. Baybull attacks a radam and takes a nasty counterattack in return, seriously like half his health. Baybull's usefulness is largely dependant on if he dodges it seems.

Ahahah, "This thing has a Rocket Punch, how nostalgic!". As you may know by now, Rocket punches were largely limited to old time super robot shows like Mazinger. They went out of style quickly. Except if Mazinger is using them I guess. Look up Big Bang Punch Shin Mazinger on youtube, you won't be dissapointed. :D Also he got a level, nothing new though.

ENEMY PHASE!

Radam do what they do best, attack indiscriminantly. And get murdered or crippled on the counterattack. No kills, but we do lower pretty much all of them to 2000 or less, setting them up for a finisher on the next turn.

TURN FIVE!

Looks like the end of the radam right here and now. But wait, Combattler will outdo our previous efforts.

Rad. With that I'll just say every other attack results in a death this turn. People that got kills were Calvina, Akito, Kira, and blade.  Also Sayaka repairs Akito.

Ruri: All Radam destroyed.
Yurika:Great job, everyone! Hey, Akito, what's that robot?
Akito:Looks like they're people from some organization called mithril. They're assisting this area's resistance.
Erina:Mithril?! Is that really what they said?!
Calvina:Indeed. They haven't said much, but they confirmed that point, at least.
Akatsuki:Impressive. Who would have thought they'd have an official presence here?
Yurika:Do you know about them?
Akatsuki:Hmm... Just rumors.
Ruri:Captain, something's approaching.

Several strange mobile suits appear.

Yurika:What are those? Mobile suits?
Ropet: NO. IT APPERS THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM.

Reminder, Ropet is the robot combattler uses to combine.

OH GOD WE'VE GOT GIANT ZOMBIE ROBOTS SHIT SHIT SHIT

Hyoma:Looks like they want a piece of us, too! Be careful, everyone!
Ryoko:Hey, longhair! You're the well-informed guy around here, so uh... ...Do you know what those things are?
Akatsuki:Unfortunately, no. I'm glad to hear you think so highly of me, but there's a lot I don't know. I have to agree with Hyoma, though. They don't appear to be very friendly.
Zombies usually aren't, no.

David:What a crazy, screwed-up mess the Earth turnd into while we were away! Weird things just keep popping up one after the other!
That pretty much sums it up, yep. Helllllooooooo giant robot based biblical apocalypse.

Blade:......
Noal:Hey, D-Boy! Don't tell me you're finished now that we trashed all the Radam?!
Blade:...I don't mind fighting some more... Assuming there's a meal waiting for me at the end.

And with that we're back in. I'm willing to bet most of you (that haven't seen G-Gundam) were not expecting giant robot zombies. I hope this has not dissapointed. Before we take a swing at one however, let's get people fixed up, as the radam kinda banged up mazinger, inparticularly. Also we'll be sending the skygrasper back to get the artillery frame for the strike, because with the strike's shakey defense, he really has no business being close to those guys. But we'll get to that next turn. Or so I thought, on the right side, the only defense is combattler, and while he's been an ace so far, I don't think he can handle so many of them. I have baybull use guts to restore HP, and focus to hopefully prevent him from being pounded to death and do this.

(Sorry about this, I missed the combattler half of the attack somehow)

Hopefully their supports will keep them safe long enough to pull closer to the center. Eiji is also nearby in case things get hairy, but the Aestivalises you see will have to pull closer to the Nadesico, because we don't want their distortion fields giving out on these guys. As you've probably gathered, they hit pretty hard for grunt enemies. We attack one, then look at it's stats to make sure I'm not making this up.

Metal pole only does 2200, but it's melee stat is 5 points over it's ranged. That does mean it'll do more damage, obviously but I dunno if it'll do THAT much more. We'll see I guess. Also it's name is Death Army. This thing is a collective apparently. CURIOUS. In any case these guys aren't the threatening thing I was talking about earlier. That has yet to arrive. Anyway, back on the left side I load the Launcher strike pack onto the skygrasper, turning it into the Launch Grasper. We won't be keeping launch grasper for long, but we'll be swapping it for the strike pack, so we will have a jet with a giant sword. How will it use it? Good question. Anyway turn ends to let the Death Army draw closer. But first, let's get a new map picture to let you know how the new enemy units stand in locations.

ENEMY PHASE

The left side is hampered by the rough terrain, and doesn't actually make it into range of our units. the Death Army is very much a short range unit collective dealie. Anyway through all this combattler gets one kill on the counter attack that I forgot to screenshot, and the rest of the death army fail to do more then 1000 damage. These guys are actually wusses, I misremembered this in a big way. Oh well, we'll need all the momentum we can get for the boss coming up. ARE YOU EXCITED YET?! :D

TURN SIX!

Alrighty, the left side is primed for some long range murderin by Bellzelute, launch strike, and Dancouga. So let's take care of that first.

THis attack activates Instinct on Dancouga, which is basically Mazinpower (+25% to attack) only it activates at 120 will instead of 130. Let's use this to take a look at DancouCannon.

Didn't quite get him, somehow. Maybe he's on a dune.

Nope, just lucky as hell. Huh.

Haven't seen the nadesico's missles in a while. Now let's swap out strike's frame. You place him adjacent like so, and select the exchange command.

That gives strike the launch, but didn't give skygrasper the strike pack like I wanted. Oh well. Minor sidetrack.

Blade took a swing at a Death Army but didn't quite get it, Akito'll finish it off for him.

And that ends it for the left side! Kouji got a level and the Strike spirit (100% chance to hit for one turn) from it. Off to the right side, which is all clumped up and highly weakened. Combo on combattler was an excellent idea.

My only regret is that he does not have more levels in it. Combattler uses Guts beforehand also. And Hyoma gains a level from that! We get an entirely new spirit, Assault! It allows you to use any attack after moving, even non post movemrnt attacks. This basically gives combattler the ability to snipe with big blast while on the move. Awesome. Everyone else gains a level but no other new spirits.

And that's it for our turn. We'll prolly clean this up on the next turn.

ENEMY PHASE

Of course, there's always the possibility the death army will kill themselves on me. I certainly hope not though... We're also getting a little heavy on screenshots, so I may start summarizing again. There's clearly some tweaking to be done. Ryoko kills one, two more survive her counters. Whew. On the right, all but one is killed by combattler.

TURN SEVEN!

Kira moves in and finishes one off, launching a cutscene suddenly!

Four Death army units and a gigantic..... thing appear.

Koji:More of 'em?!
Ryoko:What's that monster?!
Sara:Shinobu, isn't that guy...
Shinobu:Oh, hey! It's the same one old man Hazuki warned us about. Who'd have thought he'd turn up here of all places?

Well.... that's.... huh. (Kyoji is from G gundam)

A gundam appears just to the south of the thing and the Death Army.

Eiji:Another one.

Grrahhhhhhhhh!

He uses a spirit that increases his Will to 150, activating something called Super Mode, and attacks the death army!

That warship is from Nergal! I'm sure of it!

Domon:So what? Listen up! I'm going to defeat the Devil Gundam myself! Now that we're clear on that point, scram! If you get in my way, I won't hold back!

He's talking to the Nadesico, by the way, not Rain.

To say Domon is confrontational is like saying water is wet.

Rain:Domon!
Hyoma:What the?!
Koji:Who's this jerk?!
Sara:Got a real superiority compelx, don't you?
Shinobu:You're our enemy, huh... Fair enough. If that's what you want, we'll kick your sorry ass!
Chizuru: Hey, what are you bickering about at a time like this?!
Ruri:They're going to seriously injure that man.
I find that line really funny.

Inez:Did he say... The Devil Gundam...?
Yurika: Everyone, please calm down! Why are you even thinking about getting into a fight at a time like this? And, um, by the way... Who are you?
She makes an excellent point this time, because the devil gundam is NASTY. Hard boss incoming. Luckily I know it's major trick so we should be fine.

Domon:I'm the king of hearts, Domon Kasshu. Come on, Devil Gundam! It's go time!
Yurika:H-Hold on!
Ruri:I recognize this pattern of behavior.
Noal:Geez, don't even joke about that. Look, D-Boy! Another guy just like you has popped up! He bashes into stuff head-on, probably without a safety helmet! That's one thing you got right, at least, huh?
Blade:......
Mu:Does that mean he'll end up fighting for us in the end?
Noal:Well yeah, we hope! Not like I really care if that idiot goes down in flames...
Koji: Let's do it! We'll show this moron what we're all about!

Meet my favorite unit in this game, mostly because the show is awesome! G Gundam is the gundam franchise attempt at a genuine super robot show ,and it worked REALLY WELL, while still making it obvious it's a gundam show. A staggering success in all respects.

In game Domon is unfortunately not terribly good. In other games he was a tiny god, and they decided to tone it down. Basically, he is a super robot in a real robot's body. Which means, he does a TON OF DAMAGE, and can barely dodge. But he can't really take a hit either. His defenses are fairly shoddy, I'd put him on par with the Strike with defenses, probably lower, since he doesn't have a barrier. He's the definition of a glass cannon, but if you take care of him he'll eventually get a bunch of amazing attacks. He's also mostly useless until he gets enough Will to activate super mode at 120 (125?) will, which unlocks all his other attacks.

Another special condition this time too. Domon can't be shot down, this is what you'd call a PROBLEM. Domon is RIGHT NEXT to the Devil Gundam, which can and will wipe his ass off the map in two turns, because while the shining gundam is not an amazing unit in this game, it is still workable. Unfortunately, his defense is NOT one of the things that makes him good. He also has no pure defensive spirits at this point, so I can't just spam alert or wall or something. We need to get him into a battleship so we can approach this a bit more intelligently with him. So I'm gonna move the Nadesico straight down towards the devil gundam, and activate alert and wall. It'll be another turn before he can get into the Nadesico but it should be enough. Anyway, we finish off the Death Armies that aren't near the Devil Gundam.Daniel got a level, no new spirits. We're also gonna scan the devil gundam with Ruri before moving the Nadesico, because we're gonna have to make sure we stay out of range of a particular attack...

(missing screenshot, WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME IRFANVIEW)

Namely that one. It's a MAP attack with him at the center. 5 tiles in every direction, it can easily hit your entire army at once if you're not aware it exists, cutting your more fragile people in half, and taking a smaller chunk out of supers, and it DID my first time through, leading to me scrambling people into battleships and making horrible noises while I tried to salvage the situation. As long as we can avoid that, all we have to do is make sure that 3000 damage attack at the bottom there doesn't wreck us and we should be fine, although the Death Army attack is pretty nasty too. First, let's put Aesties into the nadesico and switch them to artillery frames. They CANNOT get close to that thing. Then, let's move everyone south and hopefully give Domon some cover so he can wreak havoc. Also of note is the fact that the devil gundam has 40k HP, and regenerates a large chunk of that per turn. Definitely a super robot boss. We move the Nadesico south and batter a Death Army with missles, and move domon up to finish it off with his signiture move, The Shining Finger!

Hell yes. That's not even his best attack right now. Also an image of the map as it stands.

ENEMY PHASE

Now, let's see how this goes. One death army goes for Dancouger, good. Also new attack.

Simple, but effective. I like it. The next death army goes after Domon.... We have him evade. Even then, with focus on, he has a 32% chance to be hit. Yeah. Luckily it misses. And then the Devil Gundam hauls up with Diff. Particle Cannon, which I doubt will one shot him, but I defend to be safe.

Domon:KYOJIIIIIIIII!
Kyoji:Haaaaaaahahahahaa....!

It misses. Whew.

TURN EIGHT!

Now we begin our plan. While this thing is a monster and will blow your army to bits if it can, if you keep supers in range of it's MAP, and a lot of them, it'll use the MAP and ignore reals outside of it's range. The supers can't exactly shrug it off, but they can handle it for longer, leaving long range reals to hammer on it from outside the MAP range. Domon really can't handle the devil gundam at this point without upgrades so barring a last minute shining finger sword to try to finish him off, he'll have to chill out, outside of it's range. The nadesico gravity blasts it, only for it to recieve 3000 damage. This thing has high defense to boot. Calvina takes her shot...

Calvina: Damn monster! If you insist on fighting us, then we'll just have to show you a few tricks of our own!

And does a bit more. Gonna take a few turns, I think, with that regen. Mu and Sayaka finish off the final death army, and we gather up people on the border of the MAP. We've had aton of screenshots so far and this fight'll take a while, so I'm holding off for now, by the way.

ENEMY PHASE

Devil Gundam starts off with the MAP, hitting Sayaka and Eiji. Eiji has a 23% chance to be hit, and Aphrodite has a 0% chance (due to the alert I casted before moving her last turn).

It misses both, luckily.

TURN NINE!

Now we can Get this started for real. Except... the Aestivalises have to be in range of the MAP to attack. Damnit. We creep them up in hopes of managing to keep them out of it. I have Sayaka repair Akito, as we needed to put him in the MAP. We continue battering the thing.

Yowch, cut dancouga in half with that counterattack. Hmm. More, non new attack artillery takes place. Mu also focuses and walls and takes a shot.

Mu:Seriously? How are we supposed to fight this thing?

Very carefully, as it turns out. The right side moves in, Baybull is too damaged to keep in the fight so he heads towards sayaka to hopefully get a repair before this ends. Combattler attacks with Wall active to end the turn.

ENEMY PHASE

As expected, MAP. All the supers can take a hit, and have ot be able to since they have a 100% chance of being hit. None of the reals have any chance of being hit, so we're in luck. We should be able to end this next turn! The attack does more damage then I expected, nearly finishing combattler and Mazinger, and doing more then half of Sayaka's HP. This is getting dicey.

TURN TEN!

Generic artillery occurs. This thing has regenerated well above the 15k mark, so maybe this ISN'T the end yet. I also realize I SOMEHOW FORGOT TO SWITCH THE AESTIES OUT OF GROUND FRAMES AAUAGAGAGAHAHAHAHAH YOU'D SWEAR I'VE NEVER PLAYED THIS GAME BEFORE GOD DAMN, oh well, we have them charge in, with defensive spirits. They reveal that they do decent damage with gekigan flare and distortion punches, and have a really good chance of evading. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise. Hikaru starts off with a ranged formation attack, and GETS HIT AND ALMOST DIES EEE I FORGOT SPIRITS. The other two follow up with their own, leaving this thing at like 2k HP. NICE. I'm gonna weaken it a bit more with mu, because I'm not sure domon can quite finish it off, as if I remember right, the devil gundam is 2L, which is a pretty nice damage reduction for an attacking M unit.

Annnnd it knocks it below the threshold with like 800 damage and makes the event activate. GOD DAMNIT. Oh well. SKYGRASPER IS CHAMPION OF THE DAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!! Sorry Domon. Maybe next time. Anway it regenerates back to max HP. Wait, wha-

Ruri:Regeneration?
Inez:Seems that way. Quite the impressive ability...
Yurika:This is no time to admire that thing!
Domon:Ugh! Wait, Kyoji!
Ruri:The monster termed the Devil Gundam is retreating rapidly from this area. Should we pursue?
Know's when he's beat. By a tiny support craft. I'd be embaressed too.

Yurika:Let's throw in the towel for now. We're all exhausted! Please return, everyone. We have to get back to the Archangel.
Akito:Wait, Yurika. What about him?
Domon:Rain, we're continuing the pursuit!
Rain:Hold on, Domon! Your Shining Gundam is already at its limit... ...Continuing now would be incredibly reckless.
Domon:But to let him escape...!
Rain:Please understand, Domon... This lone struggle of yours can't sustain itself.
Domon:That's not true!

The shining gundam sparks.

Domon:Guh! This isn't the time for malfunctions!
Rain:If you don't stop and let me make some adjustments to your machine, it won't be able to move. Why don't explain our situation to those people? They might even be able to lend us a hand... Okay?
Domon:But Rain, I-!
Rain:Cut this out, Domon! If you're only going to ignore what I have to say, then I'm ending our partnership here and now!
Domon:...Do as you please!
Ruri:It seems they're having a shouting match.
Yurika:Um... Would you two care to explain what you're yelling about?

Which ends this update. Keep an eye out later today for a brief update noting the plot of G Gundam as SRWJ basically skips over the first chunk of the show and I'd like to go over it, as it makes a few things make a liiiiitle bit more sense.

Yeah, unfortunately the downside to some of this stuff is that there tend to be a TON of series that were only released in japan, or recieved a very limited western release (For instance, Mazinger Z, in the 70's (I believe) recieved a very limited airing in the US, under the name "Tranzor Z". I know there's at least one more show that americans may be familiar with, as it was at least localized, if not broadcasted.

A lot of this stuff showed up stateside in the form of action figure things, but they also had different names. Nadesico was also showed on Toonami way back in the day too. Annnnd it's barely related to the subject I'm adressing anymore, but the creator of combattler V went on to make Golion, better known in the US as Voltron.

Also: G gundam plot explanation now.

G gundam is based around the idea that the planet earth has gone to complete shit, and anybody worth anything period lives on space stations. These space stations are divided by nation, so japan has a space station, etc. These space stations are referred to as "Neo (country name)" Now, to prevent enormous wars between the space stations, they decided on a more civil (kinda sorta maybe a little bit) way of doing things... GUNDAM FIGHT! In essence, each nation sends down a representative. They pilot a gundam in a sort've 1v1 brawl on the earth. The winner of the Gundam fight gains the rights to rule over the other nations as they please until someone else wins a gundam fight. Domon is the representative of Neo Japan, and unfortunately this whole Devil Gundam thing has put a damper on the Gundam Fight ceremonies. We'll be seeing other representatives later.

In reality it's a biiiit more complex then this, but that's about all you need to know for the SRWJ plot. (Technically, all you needed to know what a gundam fight was, but, I feel it's an interesting take on gundam plots.) If anyone wants to correct me/explain the plot more in depth, be my guest.

Also G Gundam (I think that is the name of where the Shining Gundam was from) is the first clearly non-scientifically based gundam show with super powered protagonists and gundams that could teleport and create matter out of thin air.

and yet they STILL arn't the most powerful Gundams (That award goes to the Butterfly Gundam)

Ah yes, fair note. I forgot to mention that. :p

Something that even it's sucessor in many ways, Gundam SEED astray didn't do (although a giant robot in a gianter robot wielding a katana that is 100 meters long to slice battleships in half is certainly scraping the concept of logic)

Also no update today, I need to study for a thing.

Tomarrow!

EDIT: So the thing ended up taking longer then I thought which lead to me sleeping in because I stayed up all night and did it in the morning. So update tomarrow. For serious this time.

Just putting some finishing bits on the update, it'll be out in a few minutes. But there's a BIG VOTE here, so I want EVERYONE THAT HAS EVEN AN INKLING OF AN OPINION to vote on it. It will determine a LOT OF STUFF IN GENERAL, so. Get ready for that!

KYOJIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

(Missed a screenshot, he mentions that the aliens and lizards and such are currently running amok, near the resistance, basically a minor recap.)

Masato:The resistance is now in a precarious situation. The city they operate out of is surrounded by an alien forest, and ZAFT has cut off their supply route. They're in serious trouble, to put it mildly.
Yurika:Mmhmm... I see.
Mu:And what did you intend when you assisted us?
Sara:It's a give and take. Think of that last battle as a free service. We can only give you plenty of intel on the area, but in exchange we want to tag along with you when you escape. The N-Jammer interference in this area is especially terrible, and we've been unable to contact our allies, so...
Prospector:Understood. That doesn't sound like a bad deal to me. By the by... Is this little lady here a part of Mithril, too?
Cagalli:No, I'm just-
Sara:She's just assisting us. Right, Cagalli?
Cagalli:Y-Yeah...
Erina:What are we going to do, Captain?
Yurika:If that's all you want, then I'll grant you permission to tag along. Please explain the details to the crew of the Archangel when we join up. ...Oh, and who are you two?
Domon:......
Rain:Hey, Domon! Answer her! ...I have to apologize for him. We're pursuing the Devil Gundam.
Inez:You said that before. Could you please explain something to us, first? Just what IS the Devil Gundam?
Rain:It was originally developed by Domon's father, Prof. Kasshu, in the colonies. It was a device whose sole intended purpose was to regenerate the Earth's enviroment. However...
Kousuke:Something went awry and now it's running amok, correct?
Kousuke knows the score.

Rain:Yes... That's about the size of it.
Kosuke:NOW I remember where I heard that name before! Prof. Yotsuya mentioned it... Dr. Kasshu was the scientist working on the "Ultimate Project," if I'm not mistaken.
Domon's father is a pretty big wheel then. (Professor Yotsuya is the guy that made combattler, and as such is from combattler V)

Hyoma:The "Ultimate Project"? Kosuke, what's that?
Kosuke:Well, from the south of things, it was a project to develop a self-regenerating, self-evolving and self-multiplying autonomous machine in order to regenerate the Earth's enviroment. I know it was designed to operate on its own, at the very least...
Rain:It was supposed to be the Ultimate Gundam... But now it's out of control, destroying all it comes into contact with on the surface and spreading its evil machines along the way.
Inez:Which means it's now the "Devil Gundam"? That sounds like a rather extreme about face, to put it mildly.
Ryo:Mithril HQ recognized its existance. It's the first time I've heard the name "Devil Gundam," but... Well, we all saw the huge amount of damage it did.
Inez:What happened on that colony to make something like this happen, I wonder?
Rain:I don't know any of the details, but Kyoji was spotted riding that monster...
Yurika:Kyoji?
Rain:He's Domon's big brother. We were told that he tried to steal the Ultimate Gundam, turning it berserk. And now Domon is here in order to stop him...
Anna:Oh, no... A battle between brothers?
D-Boy:......
Domon:Thanks to him, Mom's dead, and Dad's being held responsible! He's no longer my brother... I'll crush him AND that Devil Gundam of his!
D-Boy:......
Aki:Hey, hold on, D-Boy! I wonder what that was about...
Noal:Leave him alone, Aki. Guess he hates his relatives... Or something. Beats me.
Yurika:Understood. So, what are you planning to do now?
Rain:We were instructed to join the Federation in pursuit of the Devil Gundam. Thanks to the way things have turned out, though, there are far more enemies to fight than we anticipated. Domon's Shining Gundam is in a pretty dicey state, too. We haven't been able to make adjustments ore repairs to it for quite some time now...
Prospector:Now that you mention it, we're in the same boat.
Domon:Heh, fine. Rain, we're wasting time here. Let's continue our pursuit!
Rain:Hold on, Domon!
Yurika:Mr. Prospector, you look like you want to say something.
Prospector:Ah, yes... Please hear me out. While we're in no position to do charity, it is our assumption that you could improve your situation by joining with us. Does that work for you, Captain?
Yurika:Yes, that's perfect!
Rain:I see... Thank you very much! Hey, Domon!
Domon:I don't care what you say. If I see the Devil Gundam, taking it down comes first. Besides that, I have no complaints with the arrangement. You don't have any problems with us coming aboard?
Domon's a prickly fellow, but not TOO unreasonable.

Yurika:Of course we don't! All righty, then... ...Let's make this the start of a beautiful partnership!
Domon:...Fine. Just don't screw with us. Rain, go take care of Shining's maintenance.
Rain:Oh, that Domon...
Mu:Capt. Misumaru doesn't seem to be worried about taking all those people along with us.
Erina:Honestly... It's just one thing after another with that girl! I seriously wonder what's going through her head at a time like this...
Akatsuki:It's not like complaining is going to help, Ms. Won.
Erina:......
Yurika:This is just the position we're in. Besides, I don't think any of them are bad people or anything. If we get into trouble, it's best to have lots of friends to rely on!
Mu:I see. That's a concept we military folk are... rather unable to grasp, unfortunately.

Meanwhile...

Time passes.

Flay:Ah... Kira, welcome back!
Kira:Something wrong, Flay?
Flay:I was worried about you. Are you all right? Did you get hurt out there?
Kira:Flay... Thank you. I'm fine.
Flay:Thank God...
Kira:What about Sai and the others?
Flay:They're all on the bridge. Kira, how about we go to the cafeteria and grab something to eat?
Sara:Wow, get a load of this ship!
Cagalli:This is the UEFA's new model, the archangel, developed by Morgenroete. I've seen its design plan before, actually...
Murdoch:What? Are you the resistance people we were supposed to meet up with?
Sara:Oh, hello. We're the Cyber-Beast Force. Nice to meet you.
Cagalli:Wha-?! It's you!
Kira:You... You were at Morgenroete back when Heliopolis got attacked!
Cagalli:You're the Strike's pilot?! Why are you piloting that thing?!
Kira:Huh...? Ugh! What the hell are you doing?! Why'd you punch me?!
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

Cagalli:Shut up, dumbass! Do you have any idea what you're doing?!
Flay:(What's up with that girl...?)

Back on the Nadesico...

Yurika:And that's that!
Murrue: ...Hmph. Fine. We do need intel on the area, after all.
Natarle:......
Mu:Yeah, so what about the Cyber-Beast Force? I'd like to hear the details on those guys.

Time passes as they explain themselves.

Shinobu:...And that's about the size of it.
Ryo:Yeah. Too bad the rest of us didn't put on much of a show...
Shinobu:...You lookin' for a fight, Ryo?!
Shinobu here is very short tempered.

Sara:Calm down, Shinobu! Are you trying to embarrass us even more then usual?
Hyoma:What a short-tempered guy!
Juzo:Hey, look who's talking!
Murrue:Still... Our circumstances are worse than expected. I guess it's no use trying to break into the Pacific Ocean and head to Gibraltar Base.
Ryo:Indeed, especially since Africa's government has thrown their lot in with PLANT. South Africa abandoned the Federation altogether, resulting in the entire continent falling under ZAFT's sphere of influence. Nontheless, ZAFT has taken significant damage from invader attacks and the Jovian Lizards. Plus, the N-Jammers have this area covered as far as the eye can see. It's bad news all around.
Well, at least they're well informed.

Mu: It'll be no use trying to break out from the north or the east, then. Sounds like we're in deep trouble, guys... ...So, how about that intel you got on the positions of ZAFT and the Tulips?
Sara:As far as we've seen, well... While we're pretty sure the information's good for the Tulips, we're not so sure about ZAFT.
Murrue:Capt. Misumaru, what do you think?
Yurika:Hmm... This is hard!
Natarle:I propose we make a break through ZAFT's territory, and then shoot across the Indian Ocean up to the Equator. We should be able to get to the Pacific Ocean from there. Our main goal right now is to return to Alaska HQ, and I believe this plan poses the smallest possible risk for doing so.

Time passes.

Cagalli:Hey, Kira. Sorry for what I said back there. I didn't want to punch you, but... ...It was kinda spur of the moment. Sorry.
Kira:Oh... Gotcha. It's all right. Don't worry about it.
Cagalli:I was really concerned about you... I was wondering what happened to you after you left me back at heliopolis. Why are you piloting that thing?
Kira:A lot happened... And I mean a -lot-. You found your way here and ended up joining the resistance, right?
Cagalli:Y-Yeah... Kinda.

And again, Time passes.

Ruri:What are we going to do, Captain?
Yurika:How about this? the Nadesico will head to the Mediterranean and act as a decoy for ZAFT. After we've distracted 'em, we'll change course and head to Eastern Asia. The Archangel should make a run for the Indian Ocean in the meantime. I'm sure we'll be able to pull it off somehow. The Nadesico won't let us down!
Jun:Sounds like a good plan, Yurika, but are you sure it's wise to divide our firepower?
Yurika:If we move together, ZAFT will concentrate their forces on us, putting the Archangel in even more danger. Even with us acting solo as a decoy, our chances of a successful escape seem pretty low.

Murrue:But... All we have is Lt. Flaga and Mr. Yamato. Is that going to be enough?
Mu:Good question. Even for a man who makes the impossible possible, this might be a little too reckless! I mean, I'm still up for it, but...
Yurika:Don't worry! That's why I gave this some seeeeeeeeerious thought! V!
Shinobu:...Huh?
Masato:Haha! She seems like a pretty amusing Captain... Aaaand she's a real looker on top of that! I'm liking this Nadesico thing already!
Yurika:Yay!
Cagalli:(...You were able to return from Mars? It's a wonder this ship's in one piece with her in command...)
To be fair, the return from mars was mostly a fluke.

David:(There have been some issues, sure, but don't doubt the girl. She's always come through for us so far.)
Natarle:*cough*
Mu:Yeah, so... What do you think about the plan?
Yurika:If you ask me, the Archangel should head to the Pacific and stay close to Orb's coastal waters. The Nadesico is full of Orb civilians, and we'd like you to take them aboard the Archangel, if possible.
Natarle:You're asking usto accomodate civilians? That's just being selfish, Captain! We have no obligation to deliver them to Orb!
Wait, asking you to help people is selfish? I'm.... not following.

Yurika:I see... Well, I WAS thinking of sending everyone from the OSDG along too, assuming that Eiji and the others agree to act as an escort. Dr. Elizabeth and Noal have expressed a desire to contact their branch while at Orb, so they've requested to tag along with you until you reach the Atlantic Federation, anyway.
OSDG is outer space development group, a reminder.

Noal:Damn straight! Besides, the way things are now, we'd be forced to drop all the Orb stragglers near Eastern Asia instead. I wonder how they'd be able to return to Orb at that rate, y'know? Eiji just wants to tag along. Right, Aki?
Annnd according to Gundam Wiki, for reference, ORB is a pacific island nation, presumably near New Zealand, Australia, and Papau New Guinea, if not litterally them.

Aki:Right.
Eiji:You can count on me.
Murrue:I see. The Blue Earth would only be useful in a support capacity, but having Mr. Asuka and Mr. Rutherford's SPTs will boost our firepower significantly.
Natarle:Captain! As if the civilians weren't enough, you also want to take on children? Even worse, if what they've said is true, then that boy is an enemy alien, to boot!
Mu:That may be, Lieutenant, but do we have any choice? We're far too weak to pull it off by our lonesome.
Natarle:......
David:Eiji's our friend. Besides, isn't Kira fighting on our side despite being a Coordinator?
Kira:......
Simone:After all Eiji's done for us, calling him an enemy alien is uncalled for!
Murrue:Agreed. Our priority is to deliver the Archangel and the Strike to their destinations safe and sound.
Yurika:It's settled, then?
Murrue:Yes. We'll give it a shot. Thank you very much, Capt. Misumaru.
Aki:D-Boy, I want you to come with us, too. It would be best for you to be under the protection of the OSDG, along with Eiji and the others. Is that fine with you, Capt. Ramius?
Murrue:The... Tekkaman, right? I don't mind.
Natarle:If the Captain has already given permission, then I don't mind, either... Remember, however, that there will be no independent action during our journey. The Archangel is a Federation ship. You will follow our orders.
D-Boy:I couldn't care less about following your orders, and I don't want any friends. I don't need your protection, either!
Noal:Hey, D-Boy! Cut it out, willya?
D-Boy:However... I will do my best to fight the Radam. I need to feed myself.
Aki:D-Boy...
Ryoko:He's a wild one, all right...

In the residential section of the Nadesico.

Ruri:Oh, hello.
Festenia:Time to change shifts, Ruri?
Ruri:Yes.
Calvina:...Something up?
Ruri:Well... Your attitude has changed considerably, Calvina. It's completely different from before we returned to the Earth Sphere, and now I get the feeling you're starting to change even more...
Calvina:You really think so?
Ruri:Really.
Festenia:Hm... I've been thinkin about that, too, actually.
Calvina:I see... You may very well be right.

In the cafeteria...

Prospector:Ah, so this is where you've been!
Sayaka:What's going on, Mr. Prospector?
Prospector:The CBF and Mr. Kasshu will be coming with the Nadesico. We have plenty of firepower, but I was considering lending some to the army. They'll owe us one, is my thought.
Koji:Sorry guys, but our top priority right now is to return to the Labs.
Chizuru:I'm sure everyone must be worried sick about us!
Prospector:I'm aware. That's why I'm asking YOU, Calvina.
Calvina:We have a contract, so I don't particularly care if you want to send me over to the Archangel. Can't speak for the girls, though.
Festenia:Hmm... I don't mind, either!
Katia:No complaints here.
Calvina:Things are going to be more challenging over there. Capt. Ramius and Lt. Flaga are fine, but Lt. Badgiruel, well...
Prospector:Yes, I know. That's why it's such a challenging question to ask... What do you say?
Festenia:What're we going to do? We'll leave the decision to you, okay?

SO. We've got our first route choice.I will NOT be doing both route splits, because IMO it feels more natural to do one, and leave the other behind. Also It's another option for a vote. SO. VOTE! Are we going with the Archangel?

Or the Nadesico?

The series listed are the ones GOING WITH that particular ship. The stages will be ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. On top of this, certain secrets are only on certain routes. I'll be listing what the secrets are and which route they're on in spoilers, for people that would rather be surprised. Feel free to look at them if you need help making your decision, however. They may also reference serieses that haven't showed up yet. The routes will also eventually rejoin. So don't worry about that, we won't permanantly lose anything, aside from secrets. Also go ahead and VOTE FOR YOUR DESIRED UPGRADES. I don'tthink we got any amazing parts last mission, so I'll just take care of them.

So.... VOTE ON THE ROUTE! THIS IS THE IMPORTANT ONE, DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT! also VOTE ON UPGRADES! This one is less important and if you don't feel particularly strongly, feel free to ignore it, as per usual. Now, let's look at them secrets.

Another note, there are very minor PLOT spoilers in the spoilers below, just the stuff we unlock. There may be minor minor MINOR plot spoilers in there, but nothing you'd really care about usually, on top of being tenuously considered "plot".

Nadesico route secrets
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Archangel route secrets
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Obviously, if we take one route, we automatically forfeit the other route's secrets. So, make ye decision. I'll give you three days, because this is an important decision and I wanna give you time to think.

I'll see you all then.

Oddly enough I wanted to go the Archangel route simply because of the Gundams involved...

Also I find it funny the the routes pay off the opposite of what you would want from them.

That's actually kind've a thing, because route splits in super robot wars tend to either be "real robot" routes, or "super robot" routes, and it holds true here. Namely Archangel is the real robot route, and Nadesico is the super robot route. We just happen to have a hell of a lot less real robots right now. It'll get more even later on. In particular Full Metal Panic! is in here which is one of my favorite real robot shows, so I'm excited for that to show up.

But on top of this, eventually G gundam becomes a "flex option" which is to say, it just goes wherever you go, because it's kind've both super and real, from a statistical viewpoint. So sooner or later it'll be easier to just pick "all gundams".

Also I will either fill out the robot roll call later today or tomorrow because it is just so damn hot over here and I cannot muster the effort.
