Define current roster frumple. The current robots we have access to? I'd be happy to do it but I'm not sure whatcha mean. Which reminds me, I forgot to update the robot roll call, whoops. I'll get around to that after the update today.

I also need to get around to an update list in the OP sometime too.

Yesh, yesh, ones currently available to be upgraded, and maybe who's currently piloting them.

AyeAye. I'll go ahead and add a "pilot" section on the robot roll call too (just listing the name of the pilot for each robot, not full on sections for each pilot), but I'll add a list of currently available robots to the OP, as that's actually about to become a big deal.

Also votes are taken into account, just as confirmation, because I am addicted to words.

EDIT: Also as a note, no one said anything about the booster we have and what to attach it to. The time limit isn't quite as tight to get a vote in as you think as I'm gonna start accepting votes during the pre mission dialogue, as it's really not a big deal to rush through it again if someone has another vote to toss in.

EDIT2: Oh, also we have a hit rate+5 to attach too, because I forgot to do puzzle robo before ending the last update. If anyone has an opinion on that piddly thing. If not I'll just throw it on some super.

Yep, you can! I forgot to mention that, my bad. :P

Also do you want a specific Pilot's Aestivalis, or just one of them?

I thought you bought advancements for the Aestivalis as a group.  Like, one upgrade boosts them all.

Nope, I meant that if you upgrade an Aestivalis, the upgrades carry over to all of it's frames (which holds true for the strike as well, as a note). So if you upgrade akito's weapons, then the weapons of all of his Aesti's frames are upgraded with it, ground, 0G, Artillery, and flight.

Gotta upgrade all the seperate pilot's Aesties on their own though.

Also update being posted now! Still got another day of voting period though.

YEAHHHHHHHH

Mirallia:He must have been exhausted...
Tolle: He's definitely been through his fair share of trouble today.
Kuzzey:He sure IS a lot of trouble, anyway.
Sai:What do you mean by that?
Kuzzey: What do you think? He fought alongside those Nadesico people. Not only that, but they're saying he even rewrote a new unit's OS. You know what that means...
thatsracist.gif

Sai:...What?
Kuzzey:You don't know about Kira, do you? He's a Coordinator... ...No wonder he's way above us average people.
Sai:It'd be best if you just forgot about it.
Kuzzey:But...!

Elsewhere, on the bridge

Yurika:Well, we've decided to tag along with the Archangel and head to the Moon. It may be a teensy bit difficult, but we're counting on all of you!
Hyoma:I didn't think we'd have to cooperate with the UEFA this soon!
Chizuru:We can't help it this time.
Juzo:Hey, whatever. At least we stand a better chance of repelling Jovian Lizard attacks with them on our side.
Koji:What happened back there is water under the bridge, huh... ...Guess we're just gonna have to accept it!
Sayaka:Dad must be worried sick about us...
Brief sidetrack, this makes more sense in the Touya missions because you start with Koji and Sayaka and cover the reason they're on the nadesico to begin with. Basically, Dr. Hell attacks the highschool (Touya goes to the same highschool as Koji and Sayaka and Boss and such), and Sayaka's Dad, the head scientist at the photon power labs (where mazinger and aphrodite and all mazinger series giant robots were made) go to the Nadesico to keep from getting in trouble with the UEFA for breaking out giant robots in a civilian area. Koji also calls the UEFA "those feddie assholes" which I find particularly funny.

Prospector:Well, jumping off an evacuating ship wouldn't be much help, either. Even if you did, there's still a ZAFT warship waiting outside. As an outstanding case, I'm asking all of you to help us as much as you can... At least until we get to the moon.
Akatsuki:That's all there is to it, folks. No matter what happens, we have to hold tight and fight on.
Ruri:That's fine, but I wonder if those onboard the Archangel will be all right.
Erina:The Archangel?
Ruri: Yes. All they have is that Strike mobile suit, and a Moebius Zero. Their only mobile suit pilot is a civilian Coordinator. While that doesn't matter much to us, they're a military detatchment. I assume it will cause problems for them.
Calvina:Indeed, but it's not like worrying about it will help anyone, either. We have to do what we can, and that's that.
Akatsuki:Correct. It has nothing to do with us.
Yurika:Well, all right then! We'll depart from Heliopolis as soon as preperations are finished. Please hang on just a little bit longer and take out all those pesky ZAFT guys that stand in our way!

Meanwhile on the Archangel...

Murrue:We're seriously lacking personnel and materials. We barely managed to find people to man the bridge.
Natarle: We'll have to recruit some of the new faces and train them on the spot. If we don't, we're just going to die. That's war.
Mu:Not much of a choice, is there? Guess that's just how bad things are right now... I'll do my best to assist, though.
Murrue:What are you contemplating, Lieutenant?
Mu:Oh, just the data we got from the Nadesico. That warship has some serious firepower! It's equipped with a Distortion Field and a Gravity Blast, too, just like the Jovian Lizards. It's also playing host to several of the Far East's most powerful robots: Mazinger Z, Combattler V, and five of Nergal's Aestivalis units. The data also indicates that the ship is currently hosting a private unit of some kind, and 3 alien mobile weapons.
We're kind've a big deal at this point.

Natarle:That doesn't mean much with a captain like that...
Mu:But their performance has been seriously incredible, even IF the entire crew is made up of civilians! Look at this... Most of the pilots are teenagers! And while the ship's full of kids, their captain's superb. She's the sole daughter of the 3rd Fleet's Adm. Misumaru, AND she's barely 20 years old! She topped the scores at the Federation Military Academy, so she could have easily entered the military... But she chose to go to Nergal, instead.
Natarle: that may be, but...
Mu: ...Plus, they all made it to Mars and back, didn't they? That's impressive any way you slice it. That warship has performed far better than the majority of the army's troop divisions.
Murrue:Indeed. We have to be thankful they docked in Heliopolis when they did.
Natarle:But isn't it also true that they use Jovian and Gradosian weapons? I just can't trust them. They even have a half-alien in their crew!
Murrue: You're speaking of Eiji Asuka, correct? I hear he helped them return from Mars.
Natarle:And that's what I can't believe. They are indeed powerful, but the situations changed so much since they left...
Mu:Not much they can do about that. What matters is now is that Nergal's assisting us.
Murrue:Did you see that broadcast the OSDG put together? The one about the Gradosians and their plans to sow conflict in the Earth Sphere?
Natarle:Central HQ still hasn't said anything about it...
Mu:Hm? That pilot... Calvina Coulange... Don't tell me she's 2nd Lt. Coulange?! That's definitely a nice surprise... Didn't know she was alive. Coulda sworn I heard something about her dying in battle right before the war.
Murrue:Do you know her?
Mu:Nah, not really. But haven't you heard any rumors abot her? She's the "White Lynx"!
Murrue:The same one who passed every tactics and combat test in the Academy with a perfect score? I heard that while she has a top ace's piloting skills, she was removed from the Martian defensive line because of charecter problems... And I guess she's with Nergal, now.
Mu:She returned before the first Martian engagement. I heard from the squadron I was assigned to that she disagreed with the command back there. Word is she got fed up with the establishment and left.
Murrue:Her, or the "Hawk of Endymion"... Who's better?
Mu: No thanks, Captain. Comparing myself with allies isn't a hobby of mine. End of story.
Mu is a strong contender for the coolest dude.

Natarle:All right... What do you intend to do with those students we have onboard?
Murrue:We'll just have to take them with us for now.
Mu: It's not like we could send them to the shelters at this point, could we? You confident we'll be able to escape with this crew? The fighting's gonna get really fierce out there...
Murrue: We can't count on the Nadesico's strength to take us out of here. I believe we may have to once again rely on the strike to see us through.
Mu:You want to use that kid again, huh... I don't see any issue with that, provided he agrees.
Murrue:Well...
Natarle:We can't leave such an important unit in the hands of a civilian, much less a Coordinator! Can't you pilot it, Cdr. Flaga?
Mu:There's no way I can operate that thing. Did you see how that kid rewrote most of the OS data? A normal human simply can't handle that machine anymore.
Natarle:Then just reverse engineer it, and-!
Mu:And who's gonna do th at? You? There's no way in hell I'm up to the task.

They head to the Residential section of the Archangel and confront Kira

Kira: ...I refuse. Please, don't involve us any further!
Murrue:Kira...
Kira:We know all about the current situation in the Earth Sphere, including the crises besides the PLANT-Federation war. We know there are some aliens out there, and that the Jovian Lizards are our enemies, but we-

An alarm goes off. Bad news.

Sai:The alarm?! Don't tell me...
Murrue:Yes?
Mu:Captain, it's the enemy! Hurry up and take command of the bridge! Those scumbags are still trying to enter the colony and cause all kinds of chaos... ...The Nadesico's on the move, too! We gotta hurry!
Murrue:I'll be right back! So. As you just witnessed, we're going to have another battle. Since all the shelters are currently locked down, you can't leave this ship. If you really want to get out of here alive, then you'll have to...
Miriallia:No...!
Tolle:It'll be all right, Miriallia.
Kira:...You're all a bunch of cowards! Besides, isn't there anyone else on this damn ship that can use a mobile suit?!
Emotions are running high for obvious reasons.

Elsewhere, on the Nadesico's bridge

Yurika:We're departing, Capt. Ramius. Please follow the Nadesico!
Murrue: Understood. We're counting on you.
Yurika: Ruri, activate Distortion Field. Full speed ahead! All pilots, launch!
Mu: Hold on... That would be a bad idea.
Murrue: Huh?
Yurika: What do you mean?
Mu: Look at the ZAFT mobile suits. They're equipped for heavy bombing. If they use that equipment here...
Yurika:... Then?
Ruri:Heliopolis will be annihilated.
Murrue:Rrghh...
Yurika:But that can't be...!
Erina:I don't believe this! Hasn't their commander ever heard of a clean fight?!
Akatsuki:There are no "clean" fights in a war, you know.
Hyoma:They want to take us out, along with the colony?! Who are these guys, and why do they suck so much?!
Burn.

Calvina:We're too strong for them to take out on their own, huh? If it's a surprise attack they're after, they'll have to hit us fast and hard.
Natarle:Indeed. If the Nadesico wasn't here, I doubt the enemy would be this aggressive.
Yurika:So, that means this is all our fault...
Natarle:Correct. If you weren't this powerful, they would have just wiped us out and been done with it. But now? Things are more complicated.
Natarle is kind've an asshole.

Megumi: Still, a lot of people were saved because of us, too!
Sayaka:That's right! You should listen to what Megumi's saying, Captain!
Megumi:Oh no, it's nothing realy...
Natarle:......

Elsewhere, in Heliopolis, Miguel is chattering to his unit.

Miguel:Just die, already! Don't let them escape! Let's show 'em what happens when we really go all out! Blow 'em away, and take the colony down with 'em if you have to!

On the Nadescio, an explosion rocks the ship

Ruri:The enemy is attacking.
Murrue:If we could at least prevent a battle from breaking out inside the colony, then...
Natarle:So what are we going to do? Do you intend to just sit around while they destroy the colony?!
Yurika:Of course not! Let's break through to the outside!
Minato:Sure thing! Sounds like a good plan to me.
Natarle:That's just... reckless.

Another explosion

Yurika:We have the Distortion Field! Open a hole in the enemy formation and rush it at full speed! As soon as we break free from the colony, dispatch our units! I'm counting on all of you!

And the battle for Heliopolis begins. You still have until tomorrow to vote, but it looks like most of you got your two cents in.

And as another note, now that I think about it, upgrading a single Aestivalis, if you like em, is really the way to go anyway, with the unit cap we'll have in later missions, so just picking one to focus on is really the way to go, unless you're going for an All Aestivalis run or somethin. :P

EDIT: Robot roll call updated with pilots. List of currently accessible robots in the OP coming up next!

EDIT: And now that's done too. Hurrah!

Ok, Akito's Aestivalis: Weapons.

Yeah, he's the worst pilot in the world, but that's why I'm rooting for him!

But, didn't you say Akito gets a better Aestivalis?  Then what happens to the upgrades on this one?  If the upgrades are lost, then shift the upgrades to Ryoko (she's the one with a crush on Akito, right?  If not, shift to that girl).

Iiiiiii am not sure, actually. In any modern super robot wars game though, there's some kind of backup, I'm fairly certain upgrades don't carry over, but I'd be surprised if they didn't give you a refund at least, so I'll take that as a vote for Akito. I like the guy myself. :D

I agree with liking Akito and spending money on him. How many other Aestis do you need for the team attacks, and is it viable to keep a few more of them around just for that?

Lessee, Akito has a team attack with Gai which is obviously no longer functioning, and Hikaru Izumi and Ryoko have a team attack together. Akatsuki has no team attack with anyone, but if I recall he's considerably more skilled then the other pilots. Think gai, but for ranged attacks. He's kind've weak defensively though. Honestly, as far as viability goes, if you really want to use aesties, I prefer one aesti that's upgraded, and if they have a team attack they can help out with, so be it.

Fielding 3 aesties in every mission is kind've restrictive on your unit caps when they come into play (Any mission now, incidentally), so unless you just love them to death it's usually better to just upgrade one of them and let them go to town. And as mentioned, Akito will get a better Aesti later on in the plot, which is good if we're just upgrading him, as team attacks are tied to the mech, not the pilot. (IE, the new mech wouldn't be able to team attack with Gai ANYWAY, so he's basically on his own, with a better mech.)

Alrighty, Voting is closed, and work on the battle update starts. It'll prolly be a few days, and I've got something to do today (so I'll be working for about an hour less then I normally do), so it might even break into 3 again. If it's as wordy as it was yesterday, maybe even 4? Who can say.

EDIT: I FORGOT THE MOBIUS ZERO IN THE ROBOT ROLL CALL ARGH, I'll get it in later.

Don't forget that Akito team attacks with the Yurika, who is usually piloting the Nadesico, which is a big freaking battleship that has been in all our missions, and I'm guessing will factor into many missions to come.  That alone is sufficient reason to boost Akito's Aestivalis.

One can easily imagine the following dialog in most missions:
Akito: AH! Taking damage!
Yurika: WHO DARES HURT MY AKITO!
*Nadesico fires Gravity Beam!*
*Enemy disappears in a blinding light!*
