The
propaganda news goes over well in Cydonia. But that hasn't happened yet. Let's get to the update.
Welp. I'm low on Elerium AND alien food. I hope that supply ships gets here soon...
Then, forgetting my new medium scouts require 6 alien food, instead of 3, I use two food up for small scouts and am unable to harvest until my small scouts are ready to harvest(which would be after their research mission and after reequipping)
I am saved! Good timing too.
...wow. That is a lot of resources. The Celebrium must be pleased.
Then two medium scouts finish at the same time. I am not sure how. Maybe they require Elerium to finish, and they stacked up? Who knows...
So. At this point I had two things kicking in. Having high research in areas, and having no need to harvest. Needless to say, I did
a lot of abduction missions.
Abductor Research is completed.
Look at this bad boy. Combine that with Sectoid abduction specialization, and he pumps out tech better than any other ship.
I decide to work up the race tech tree next. Going to need terror units for the Mothership.
I send ONE scout to South Africa and he finds it. He must be looking in all the wrong places.
Do I need to say more?
Our first 100%. I will probably send our Mothership to Australia when it's built.
Once I reach 100%, I switch to East Asia. Don't want him popping 3 of my UFOs again.
In 2 waves, it goes from 40% to 80%. Pretty good I'd say.
Just powering the tech today. Floaters are now complete.
Floaters aren't very useful until terror missions, so I adjust breeding as such.
Next: Snakemen. They are great at harvesting missions, which I need right now. Plus they're reproductive abilities are very useful....
Oh. He found me, and destroys this small scout.
Abductor!
This is our best asset as of right now. This ship will accelerate our abduction rate, allowing new toys to come into production. Since it has
stealth, I shouldn't be too worried sending it out on lone missions. I send it to Australia by itself for the rest of this update.
Oh great. Hes got his new funding. What he did with it, I will not know. I assume a new base, or more scientists, since I haven't seen 3 interceptors by the end of this update.
I switch to the South Pole. He should be completely blind, and I run very little risk of getting detected. The problem is getting my research up, which means he will find me before I can capitalize on that research.
225. That is almost 4x as much as a medium scout abduction. Sweeeet.
Snakemen research has completed.
Next, harvester. I also adjust breeding as such.
My opponent and I have a discussion on my string of luck.
Switching back to East Asia, he catches on and finds me. Drat.
I get
very lucky. One of my UFOs escaped detection, or he just didn't target it and doesn't know this feature exists. The 2nd UFO gets away because my opponent runs out of missiles(using all of them up on the 1st one). Randomly selecting the last UFO and attempting the abort mission works once. His interceptor must have ran out of fuel.
The crashed UFO is one of my expendable harvesters. Phew.
Welp, here we go.
Defensive positions!
I take a peek, get Reaction Fired. I then use my 2nd Sectoid, and take an aimed shot at the gal. However, I believe I missed. I can't be certain though, it could have hit the drop ramp, or her feet.
With a guy that can reaction fire my guys, I decide to get a defensive position and wait. I look towards that wall because I know hes going to High Explosive it.
Turns out I was right.
Somehow, I had been in some sort of sweet spot and wasn't actually in any smoke. I continue to wait.
Flash From the Front: Human Commander is a Tree KillerThe entire field is in flames.
He tosses a 'nade in, and causes no harm. Not realizing it was a smoke, and feeling my time was running out, I decide to take a peek....
I get proxied. Bah. I always forget about them, because there is no alien equivalent. Proxies are probably my greatest weakness.
Meh. At least I waited long enough that he didn't get full points.

SummaryHalf way to Mothership! Though I may build a pair of small scouts first. And a harvester. Also, resources aren't shared, and I'll need a supply ship if I want my new base to actually be able to construct ships(Elerium). Supply ships come after harvesters,
I think.
He has no idea.
