worn out stockpile
« on: March 31, 2012, 06:30:50 am »

So now that my dwarves are getting rid of their slightly worn out sock's how do I make a stockpile that only has worn out stuff and not the nice new stuff i've made?
I want it nice and close to my deport ready for dumping on the elf binmen. But I don't really want to have to sort through 5 bins of good stuff for the dozen bits of rubbish.
At the moment I'm using the general quality options but when my master work shoes wear out and get replaced I'll want to sell those without having to go looking in my high quality stockpile.

thanks

I don't think you'll be able to, let alone get the socks off of the Dwarf who owns it in the first place...

This is irritating me too. Everytime I make new clothing, they always remove the least best worn stuff and get new ones, and the old crap with one x "xpigtail sockx" is in my stockpile. I trade these to the merchants and just keep making more and more stuff forever. You can't win the clothing fight with civilians.  Toady needs to make an auto clothier function that will queue up clothin in demand the same way thread automaticly can be woven into cloth.

Agreed. Also, dorfs should not have to abandon clothing at x but at least X or XX ! I'd also add a new quality setting to stockpiles, like "sand bag" or "prepared meals" one that handles the tattered stuff.

dfhack has an insert now that can count all clothing and clothing worn by someone and automatically queue new clothing to be made. It may not work quite properly yet, but it's promising. Also, the autodump destroy-here is great. I can select the worn clothing (like damaged) in the stocks, dump it somewhere, claim it, mark it for dumping again and destroy it. Clothing still in use is not affected and now the program can get an accurate count of what I actually have in the stores.
