Has anyone scene anything like this before?
I'm going to investigate it but I've never seen anything like that come out of my worldgen before.

Are they normal dorfs or are they evil?

It's a gobbo name, so it's a gobbo civ. Must be a gobbo civ site composed entirely of dwarves, so yes, theorically these have the same ethics as the gobbos. I guess you can call them evil dwarves.

I just genned a world and was looking through the file with site populations, and saw a bunch of dark towers full of goblins that were part of a Dwarf Civ entity. And a number of mountain homes with both dwarves and goblins living (presumably peacefully) in them. Kinda hard to get my mind around the concepts. I can understand dwarves living in a goblin civ because of baby snatchers, but I don't see how goblins came to live in a mountain home. Or how a dark tower full of only goblins became part of a dwarven civ.

This is in 34.07 with no mods at all. I haven't even changed the init.txt file yet.

I've seen it before. I would guess what others here have said and say its the dwarven descendants of a goblin civ. If you visit in adventure mode its full of dwarfs I bet. I'm pretty sure these ones are not hostile to other mountain homes like normal gobbo towers.

Check legends mode. And have fun, that's gotta take time to find the historical reason.

Dark Dwarven Fortresses are Dark Fortresses conquered by Dwarves.

The dwarves inhabiting that fortress are members of the dwarven civ that conquered the fortress, and they follow dwarven ethics. Before I knew this, back in 40d, I actually went into a dark dwarven fortress as an adventurer and started killing what I thought were evil dwarves.... then the entire dwarf civ hated me. Oops.....

It's that or dwarfs follow the same tactics as cats. poor baby snatchers, they shouldn't of snatched two dwarfs.

The dwarves are probobly decendants of dwarves that were kidnapped by gobbos as kids. Somehow, all the gobbos died, and only dwarves were left. Resault? Dark dorf fortress.

No, it's definitely a goblin fort that was conquered by dwarves who moved in. Check the fort's history in Legends mode.
