I'm totally up for multiplayer, my minecraft name is Girlinhat, expectantly.  I got my version WAY back in alpha.  Like, I don't remember what version, but I remember playing the in-browser demo, then looking at the full version, and being like "it's not that much different" but got it anyways.

The only issue is, I have no idea how to get all the stuff that the server runs.  I assume the whatsit will be an installer for all the prereq mods that'll let me log in?  If so, I'll be all over that, at least until about 3PM CST, I have no idea why but my internet becomes unreliable in the afternoon, up until about 4am or so.

Saw the thread.  MC mods tend to disagree with me many times, for some reason.  It's why I went Technic, clean instal of everything.

And nah, I wouldn't be quite that obvious.  Chances are I'll begin some small, unassuming farm on the edge of town, and trade for materials and puddle about.  Then I disappear, into the nether, leaving nothing but a trail of dynamite holes that once covered an escape rail track and a very large crater that's consumed my exit portal, dropping me somewhere in the overworld.  Then I bide my time, out on my lonesome with my traded goods.  And I fly back to town.  On a magma-spewing golden phallus airship.  Right into the tower in the middle of town.  And I do mean "into" - it's a phallus after all.

Yeah, the whatsit is an installer that does everything required, although you'll presumably have to use MCNostalgia to backdate your client, I'll include it and instructions on how to use it in the modpack folder.

I'm running 1.2.5 right now, is that legit?

Either way, gonna miss EE on the server.  Matter generation is fine and all, but repairing items is what's hot :P

You'll need a clean minecraft.jar to install the mods, so if you've got mods on your 1.2.5 install, you'll need a fresh one.

Essentially it puts everything minecraft uses into a single folder; this folder is exclusive to that minecraft install, and works with everything from Technic to vanilla. Though you will need to change the name of the .exe in the batch file to the technic launcher exe. It's pretty easy to set up (1 root folder containing 2 subdirectories, bin and data, with the launcher .exe in bin and the batch file in the root folder), and can then be moved anywhere you want it to go. No more digging around in c:/appdata/middleOfAssBackwardsNowhereVilleDirectory, and no more worry about accidentally overwriting old files or using mods you didn't mean to. It completely ignores everything in the default middleOfAssBackwardsNowhereVilleDirectory the .minecraft folder is normally in as well, so no fear of corruption so long as you start it with the batch file. It's also handy if your appdata folder is on a slower hard drive (or worse, a network drive, as is the case at RIT).

Also, I'd like to play on the mp server again; mind tossing me the stuff with the whatsit when it gets made?

I do not jealously guard my whatsits, especially considering I'm using a publically available program and basically just tossing some files into some folders

Rebooted my computer, net is marginally more stable - Windows is throwing less fits, at least.  Tried doing a force update, and then MCNostalgia back to 1.2.5 and then using http://bit.ly/ForsakenPack72712 to toss stuff in the jar and the main folder.

Tried to run, it hung up on "Done Loading" so I wiped the whole folder and trying again.  It was attempting to merge files that it probably shouldn't have, like Buildcraft files that shouldn't be there on a clean instal.

EDIT: It seems that Nostalgia doesn't want to downdate me, claims that my version isn't a current version, and thus cannot be downgraded.  What do?

Delete your entire .minecraft folder and try again.
