I don't suppose any of you fine ladies/gentlemen can help me figure out how to install TerraFirmaCraft, using Multi-Minecraft? I've been meaning to try it out, but the official instructions don't seem to click in my head.

Install order:
MC forge
Player API client
TFC core
(Smart moving)
Player API render
TFC_resources
(NEI)
(CodeChickenCore)
(Optifine)

Goes into the jar. Things between brackets are not part of TFC and are not needed to install TFC but are usefull as fuck.

It must be possible to mod these things to become horizontal trampolines.

Do I really want to know what CodeChickenCore does? :P

Alright, I'll give this a shot.

My guess is that it's just common functions that the guy that made NEI uses for all his stuff but didn't want to actually put in any one single mod.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/08/04/no-end-of-the-world-minez-is-zombie-survival-minecraft/

Lessons i have learned so far:

Grimsdale is a nice place to be, most of the time people are friendly and will assist each others in combatting bandits

Banditry is a viable method of surviving, most people arent prepared for a sneak attack and they will atleast give you something to repair your armor and sword with.

Stay out of trouble, if theres lots of people, figure out what kind of people and generally stay unnoticed for as long as possible, even when not looting.

BACKSTAB THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE BEFORE THEY BACKSTAB YOU!

A single wooden sworded guy can beat out a whole pack of iron clad warriors, given that he uses his wits.

If someone goes near you and you got a iron sword, get that, generally, they wont have anything but wood and it will help you a great deal, sword = social rank and fearfulness.

Avoid getting infamy, only attack french speaking players since they proably wont be able to tell everyone else that you killed them.

I'd like to give this MineZ a try but every server for it gives me an error.

Quote
Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset

Any idea what's going on?

Edit to add: I even tried a completely unmodified copy of 1.2.5 with no luck.

Ah, preparing to be a lovable noob/RPer without much to his name (or between his ears?), and then pouncing on you when you let your guard down. Classic Killer Rabbit strategy, I've got to remember that...

Unless anything changed since last night, all the servers were recently updated to 1.3.1, so using 1.2.5 will give you that error.
That makes sense. Cheers.

Got it working. Met two players at a small farm and teamed up, one died of hunger quickly. I left the other to wait for his friend only to see he got killed so I ran back and killed someone. It turned out to be the wrong guy, he'd rushed there to get revenge too and was the friend being waited for. I died soon after that.

After two weeks I check out Terrafirmacraft to find both mineral density sorta fixed and chests less stressful to deal with. Charcoal pits and general mining.prospecting is more aggravating, but charcoal is obviously in a placeholder state at the moment and was already broken before(If you cover the pit with dirt as they suggest the dirt has a chance to collapse onto the firepit inside, destroying all the charcoal) and at the very least the prospecting pick was replaced with an interesting system. He even made sluices less of a pain to refill.

I have some hope for that mod, but the community is just as bad/worse than the anti-modpack crowds. They seem to hold realism as the reason the mod is fun and use it as a platform to justify tedious shit. At least the developer has made an official statement on realism not being a solid reason for anything in the mod.
