Two guys did a test. One used EE and the other used IC2. The EE person created an infinite diamond generator AND caught up with everything the IC guy did in 6 hours, which mainly consisted of two machines and a couple of wires.

:/

No offense to that guy, but if it took him six hours to make two machines, he had no clue what he was doing.

This Ugocraft mod looks incredible. Anyone seen it? Yogscast did a mod spotlight on it, link below:

It basically adds smooth sliding blocks, think of it like frames from RP2 but smoother and less complicated.

Logistics system would be smaller but that is an interesting way to do it. ^^

Hehe, I was mainly seeing the footprint of a Redpower Torch Factory compared to a Buildcraft one. The BC one is absolutely miniscule compared to that one.

Resource requirement is much lower as well.

I have to admit, redpower quarries are amazing though. I worked one out in my test world, inspired by DW20's video but substantially different as it has two quarry heads and digs out two chunks at once. Everything is autosorted and smelted in an array of 8 rotary macerators/induction furnaces. After 2 cycles I had more than 3000 iron... -twitch-

I upped the limit on the number of frames that can move from one motor so I can build a new version which will dig out 4 chunks at once.

Oh man, that sounds pretty awesome.
I've yet to make anything impressive using frames myself :P Still playing around getting used to the mods.

Its honestly fairly simple once you understand the principle.

I wish there were frames which would move anything 'on top of' them so you could build a house on a frames platform and move it around. Designing a nice looking structure which is fully frames supported isn't easy.

With the use of covers you could shrink it quite a bit. You only really need one timer too if you also add a counter and a detector. Here's my current smallest.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I think I can make a smaller one too.

Maybe it's just the steampunk in me talking, but I find the RP2 stuff that you can make to be much more aesthetically pleasing than an equivalent BC construction. That in itself is enough to justify its construction to me.

RP2 is a lot more aesthetically pleasing overall when compared to BuildCraft. The only thing is if I want tight and compact I go with Logistic Pipes addon for BuildCraft as its chassis pipes are amazing.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

Buildcraft chassis pipes really are amazingly useful, agreed. And as a whole the system is smarter with more automation.

What are the differences between BC and RP2 pipes? Which one is easier to learn? I know how to use BC pipes, but I keep hearing RP2's ones are well-poised to take over everything BC does.

Also, what does the rotary macerator do compared to a regular macerator?

Finally, playing inside a nuclear bunker with everything either automated outside or kept inside is really fun :3 Now that EE is in its unlimited items phase, I don't need much now...
