I turned off millenaire, threw all the mystcraft stuff into the modpack.jar, turned off better dungeons after it didn't work the first time to be safe, and now it crashes with "saving chunks" after I spend more than 2 seconds unpaused. This with the latest devbuild.
Hmmmm...odd. My technical expertise states that I have no idea what is wrong. I basically stumbled across this at random.

Are you sure you used the latest mystcraft?
Have you modded technic in any way?
Did you move anything around while adding mystcraft to modpack.jar?

Then I got nothing.

Try redownload technic and try again, if you want to. Dont know what might have gone wrong.

It was also breaking A LOT when generating a new age at the default 1GB RAM allocation; 2 GM allocation greatly decreased the chance of it breaking, though didn't eliminate it.

3. From what I've seen, the forge patch has been integrated into Mystcraft.
4. I only have ~3.5 GB of RAM on this computer (3 GB! On a 64-bit computer! It's a travesty!) and 1.5 GB are being used at once, usually, so that's really not an option. I brought the allocation up to 1.5 GB and it didn't work.

Has anyone tried the Skygrid map with Technic? It seems that Technic overwrites Skygrid...

About this, does Better Dungeons and Millenaire overwrite the terrain generator? When I move a Anvil save to Technic and run it, it regenerates the land.

Try going down, seriously. It's what stopped the saving chunk BS for me -- I set the memory allocation for minecraft to min 256, max 512 (via multiMC).

Might not help mystcraft, though, as my build's not running it. Still, give shot. From what one of the modders said, MC allocates a shitload more ram than it actually needs if you let it, which can apparently cause problems or something.

I has 12... Ram is cheap.

Things which are not cheap include:
- New laptops with more RAM
- New motherboards which support more than 4GB, and the CPU for them
- New power supplies that can take a potentially heavier load
- A 64-bit OS, if you are upgrading piecewise.

Hey guys, how do I deal with taint? I spotted some naturally occuring taint on my map, and it keeps expanding little by little every day. Is this going to be something horrible, and if yes, how do I stop it before it becomes horrible?

Throw a ton of splash potions of concentrated vis, make totems of light or dawn or whatever, make a crystal farm.

But tainted area can give you some nice artifacts. Might want to keep it if it's far enough away that you can chunk freeze it.

Make a condenser once you get the evil whatsit, connect it to a purifier, and fill it with taint crystals?
