Pardon my ignorance about codes and stuff, but what exactly is different with LUA and Forth?

Or you can give me a short answer: Is LUA better and easier to grasp its concepts than Forth?

Terrafirma craft question. I tried to make a zinc sword blade, no go. Can some metals just not be made into some stuff? Also the gold nuggets I got from the sluice box got crafted together into a vanilla ingot which I apparently cannot heat up to use in metallurgy. Is there any point to em, or should I just trash the sluice box since gems are apparently currently useless too?

This covers the basics of the computers, but simple answer, yes. You can program your own computers in a language called forth. It's an emulated 6502 processor with a custom written, but very simple OS.

Not quite, Eloraam just included a basic OS with a FORTH interpreter for us to get started with.  It's a fully simulated computer, so it can be programmed to use any programming language available to computers of that type. So if your Commodore 64 can do it, so can this computer.

OMG, Forth?  Seriously?
Yeah the great thing about the computer in redpower is you can program your own OS instead of using FORTH if you don't like it. She simulates the computer separately from the OS.

I feel like it's one of those cases where someone just hands you a screw and a hammer. Sure, if you bang at it hard enough, you can probably get that screw embedded into something, or you could just go find a screwdriver on your own.

Honestly, unless you're trying to do something extra complicated, Forth looked simple enough (if a little oddly parsed) to be able to do it without much trouble. You can do a heck of a lot with simple if, then, else and loop.

Frames are awesome.  After a bit of fiddling I managed to create a tiny inchworm engine thingy that can be effortlessly attached to any larger framework.  I'm cruising through the skies as we speak on a little solar-powered platform.  With a second drive for vertical motion and some control levers, I can make a fully mobile base.

I'll probably just make a little island out of dirt and frames with a little house on top, slowly sailing along.

So what mods do you have installed? Are you using a modpack?

Where are your dwarfy ambitions?
Build a netherrack fortress!
Or better yet, a replica of Bowser's airship!

The only mod you need to build this is Redpower 2. The other mods I'm using right now are Not Enough Items, Thaumcraft 2, Rei's Minimap and Somnia.

I don't use a modpack, the Magic Launcher makes installing mods quick and easy.
