It took longer than expected but they're running and working together. Looks like it subdivides each target area into small workzones and assigns a turtle to each. I have 5 turtles digging.

Better picture in daylight, now with 10 turtles.

Later on, they're making good progress.

Looks pretty good!
Do they check their fuel levels and return for coal when needed?

Also, seems applied energistics is essentially the 'right click to minecraft' of automation.

Yep, they will return for fuel and to drop off items into a chest.

After messing with this a bit I now want to host a server again. sigh

If you don't, I hope somebody else does.

I will look into it tomorrow. If I do, I will limit it to only the major mods to keep it running smoothly.

Well if you want to keep it focused on computer craft you might want to avoid buildcraft, and maybe railcraft for that matter. Kind of push people into using turtles instead.

Also maybe a rule that you can't use scripts you got off the internet, you have to do your own programming. Those with more experience get to challenge each other, and the rest are pressured to learn a little.  :)

I don't know the ComputerCraft API much, but I know so much goddamn Lua due to DFHack. Mmm.

Honestly what is to know?
Thinking about it the less complex mods the better, otherwise the server will start having trouble dealing with all the computers on top of everything else. I guess don't install misc peripherals, or every man and his dog will be using chunk loading turtles...

Not even any unofficial APIs? Shit.

The no online scripts rule would be basically impossible to enforce.

Bay12 tends to be pretty honest, and frankly having to copy out code line for line is pretty boring and prone to errors anyway. If you don't have access to the server files then you need to do everything in game, and that can take some time for longer scripts.

That's what the pastebin command is for.

Yeah with Pastebin support it literally takes seconds to set up, and I wouldn't use a rule like that anyway. Not everyone enjoys making their own code, especially when code already exists to do what you want.

Anyone familiar with the main Tekkit pack know if there is a more responsive repository of information than http://wiki.technicpack.net/Tekkit? I imagine the individual mod wikis wouldn't chug quite so bad but I was hoping for a mirror or something so that most of the information can be in one place.

FTB just updated to 1.6.4. Direwolf 20 pack and another pack. The DW pack is pretty cool but the Horizons pack looks amazing, looks like the only thing it's missing is IC2, but  there's so much other stuff that I think I can overlook that. Lots of mods I've never even heard of that look amazing.
